This is a great way to avoid doing stuff you're really supposed to be doing. ;)

Lord help you if you have to start with Nebraska! :P ;D
-
I was 76% correct, but I think my score is lower than it should be because I accidentally 'dropped' a few states when I didn't mean to.
-
Keep playing Del. My last score was 98% in 446 seconds, average error 2 miles. Sometimes you luck out in the order they come up. 8)
-
86% Average error 23 miles 387 seconds
-
Danged Tennessee! >:( It was one of my early ones and I plunked it down too low!
Still got 96% with average error 4 miles, but.... lemme try it again! (Gotta catch up with Smarty-Pants Meryl! ;D)
-
Both Alex and I took the test...
David: Score: 94% Average Error: 9 miles Time: 502 seconds
Alex: Score 98% Average Error: 4 miles Time: 308 seconds
Alex beat my score.... and he lives in ENGLAND! :(
-
88%
-
Score 84% Ave error: 40 miles Time: 631 seconds
-
I got 75% :) Not bad for a foreigner!
-
92% an error of 7 miles. Didn't write down the time. I've got some issues with a steady hand I think. Just loved how they put Rhode Island as one of the first states. Yeah, try to fit that in as the first state on the east coast! >:( States with a coast line are so much easier to place. I wish the computer would say "very good" when done. That's the Brokie way. ;)
-
92% and 7 mile error too :)
LOL at 'Danged Tennessee' ;D
Thanks, Meryl! Reminds me of a puzzle I had as a kid!
-
My score was 88%, with average error of thirteen miles, in time of 457 seconds. The game is definitely hardest at the beginning, when you start out with Nebraska!
-
goddamned Kansas.
-
As a Canadian I am happy that I got 84% average error 41 miles
and time of 614 seconds.
-
goddamned Kansas.
Alas, even our beloved Wyoming is all too damnable in this game. ::)

I wasn't dissing Indiana, David, just chuckling at Paul's forgetting there was one. :)

Damn Thank you, Ennis Meryl!

Oh, I know you weren't dissing Indiana. I suppose I should have used a "wink" face ( ;) ) at the end of my message.
I know you were just kidding. :)

92%, average error 5 miles.
Not bad given that Wyoming was my 3rd state. ::) Only off by 54 miles, dropping a dang square into the middle of the continent.
I'm not so proud about being unable to place Pennsylvania correctly, though. I have trouble figuring out exactly where its Great Lake coast actually falls. That's embarrassing, because I've driven through it.
Minnesota is a good state to get to start. (Texas would be, too.)
3rd try: 100%, average error 0 miles. ;D (Had to stop in the middle and deal with family, so I didn't record the time.)
I am particularly proud of placing Nevada correctly without any other states in the western half of the US. I guess I do know where California's corner is.
-
3rd try: 100%, average error 0 miles. ;D
Dang, Girl! That's amazin'. You really know These United States.
-
8th time:
96% 3 miles 371 secs.
-
Yay Mel, 100%! 8)
Yeah, it is cool when you just take a stab at it and it works. I just did the same with Utah. Latest score was 98%, 5 miles, 209 seconds.

What's in Indiana? ;) They still got the Kinsey Institute up and running? I know, David Letterman is from there. Of course, he annoyed me with BBM being a running gag for him. Enough already. Gawd forbid you have Jake on your show.
Did like how Letterman recently (pre-election) told Bill O'Reilly "I believe 60% of the stuff you say is b.s." That sorta made up for him not showing any respect for BBM.
I've met some nice guys from Indiana. It's such a large state. How could anyone forget it, SouthendMD? ;) Don't ask me to name the capitals of all the states because I'd surely screw up on North Dakota and South Dakota.
-
I just read about a James Dean Museum planned for somewhere in Indiana. That's something I would like to see!
-
32% - 950 miles - 315 secs
Shameful... and I only got those right 'cos I'm pretty handy with a jigsaw puzzle! :D
Bet none of you know where Nempsett Thrubwell is in the UK though, hunh?? ;)
-
HAHA! Nicky, you have courage posting that score here. At least you gave it a shot! ;D
You're right, I'd be pretty hopeless given a similar task with the U.K. ::)
-
Don't ask me to name the capitals of all the states because I'd surely screw up on North Dakota and South Dakota.
North Dakota's capital is Bismarck, while South Dakota's is Pierre. This might help you to remember: North might suggest Germanic...Bismarck is a German surname. South might evoke Latin...Pierre is a French name.
-
9th grade Civics, North and South Dakota got me. Thanks for the hint. Wish the teacher had thought up as much as most of the class messed up on that. Of course, everyone knows Baton Rouge. French for Red Stick.
I could never spell the capital of Florida correctly. I'd still have to check to see how to spell it correctly.

Scott, this is the kind of mnemonic I never forget. That would be a fun thread, people listing mnemonics. I'm goin' a go start one now. :)
Bet none of you know where Nempsett Thrubwell is in the UK though, hunh?? ;)
Nicky, I'm pretty sure that if you could find us a similar puzzle about the UK, I would get a very low score. I'd love to try.

Oh my God. That is really good Clarissa!
As soon as I finish with this payroll, I'm going to try it again! :D
Congratulations! :)
