I answered this one thinking of my mother, who died in 1992.  Now I'll answer it thinking of my stepmother...

At times, it seems like you and your mom aren't even related.
You often wonder how two people from the same family can be so different.
As the saying goes... you can pick your friends, but not your relatives.

Believe it or not, you and your mom are pretty darn similar.
It may not seem like it at times, but you and your mom have a lot of common ground.
Over time, you'll probably get closer ... especially if you emphasize the things you like about each other.

Oh ehm. No. Common ground yes! Maybe similar in the way we act (not react though), but getting closre in time? Hmm.. We've never been really close, but there's definitely respect.
