Title: HELP! with Paypal
Post by: RouxB on May 22, 2007, 01:56:55 am
Knucklehead me just send #$%^& $355.00 for Brokeback 2007 to the wrong stinkin' party and the bastahd accepted it! Any hints, suggestions on getting it back? I sent an email already (2 of them) and spent an hour on the phone with PP to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

OMG! RouxB, that's awful!  :'(

(But you have reinforced my faith to stay away from PayPal. ...)

RouxB, that's awful.

You might try this:  go into your account, and click "request money" and enter the bastahd's email/account, enter the amount and add a note saying it was mistakenly paid, and request an immediate refund.

If you get no response, try clicking the "resolution center".

If you used a credit card, contact the credit card directly.  If you used your bank account, contact the bank.

Good luck.

RouxB! You're "purple" on the barbecue list! Does that mean you got your PayPal problem straightened out (hope ... hope ... hope)?

I was guessing it meant that so far our RouxB has had to pay twice as much as the rest of us to be there.  How's the refund coming, Roux?

Yep, I had to pay twice and that was $$$ I didn't have. I tried to cancel but was unsuccessful. I did go to the resolution center (the "seller" has 20 days to respond to the inquiry) I don't have 20 days so I will file a claim tomorrow. I am also going to try Paul's suggestion-thanks Baby and all the rest of you Babys.

When I had a problem, I told them I would cancel my account if it weren't resolved quickly and that seemed to do it.  Good luck.

Humphf. Sounds like a pretty good tactic to me, but the account that should be canceled is the one that accepted RouxB's money and won't give it back.  >:(

ONe thing--make sure you make copies of any emails, correspondence, and transaction papers, both to the right person and the wrong one--I ended up faxing 11 pages of stuff to verify the right and wrong of my situation---but mine wasn't a mistake it was fraud, and I had to fill out a police report with my local dept. before they would take me seriously, and that was a royal waste of time, considering seller was on the West Coast and I am in the midwest.
I would think they should be able to resolve a unintentional mistake without making you too crazy.
Keep everything either real copied in a file or placed in save somewhere you can get it.
I have found paypal to be handy---however it is more seller/acceptor friendly than buyer/sender friendly if there are problems.

Good luck, Roux!  Hopefully, the guy just hasn't had time to get it taken care of and will remedy it soon.  :P

RouxB

There is a section under Paypal called DISPUTE RESOLUTION.  File your complaint there, and while Paypal are investigating they'll freeze the amount in question from the other person's account until it is resolved, either in your favor or the other persons.  Just went through something like that.

Settling back fine in Los Angeles.  I really missed it.
