Evenin’ all! Take a butcher’s at my Cockney Rhyming Slang quiz. You’ve all heard of Cockney Rhyming Slang right? You haven’t?? … Well stone the crows!! Let me explain then…
You have two or three associated words (eg “Butcher’s Hook”), where the last word rhymes with the word you want to say (ie. “Look”). Then you use the first word only in the sentence .... and Bob’s yer Uncle !! Still don’t get it? Then have a butchers at this example:
"I’m climbing the apples."
Apples is short for Apples and Pears which rhymes with Stairs
…. So the sentence means ….."I’m climbing the stairs."
Now in this quiz, I’ll give you the sentence, and you’ve got to work out what I’m trying to say … don’t forget to put on your best Dick Van Dyke accent!!
