I tried to do this on another website, "The Men Of ClubFreestyle".

No one guy was going to get his own page....the response was so positive, were were going to do collage pics, and each month had a theme.

"Men on the East Coast"
"Men on the West Coast"
"Men in Uniform" (a number of members were officers, fire fighters, or in the service)
"Out, Loud, & Proud" (we had a number of gay members)

and so on.

I was willing to do it before I lost all the weight, and would love to do it now.

Does anyone have a program to create the calendar, and a way to mass produce them?

I have a calendar program.

I did calendars (with photos) a few years ago for Christmas. You set it all up, print them all out, and then take them to a copy shop to be mass produced. Color printing, spiral binding...they ended up being ~$20-25 each.

I'd be willing to help with this.

I would be willing to buy one too, but you need to make sure they will be "cost effective".

Leslie has said she can produce it. However, the printing could be an issue. Will the location only do a set number of calendars? Ex: 100 or more? if the site only sells 20 calendars, it would be in the hole for the cost of 80 calendars. And if the printer charges $25.00 per calendar, who will pay for the up front, and how much to charge so that the site gets a profit?

Before anything else happens, I think the first thing would be to do a mass mailing or poll, and find out if there would be enough interest in the calendar in the first place.

Two thoughts on style, which related directly to cost:

What everyone seems to be discussing is the "traditional" one picture per month style calendar. Each month you flip the page and there is a new picture of some gorgeous stud. Alternatively, you could have ONE picture and each month you rip off the page for the next month.

The first option is more expensive because you have 26 impressions (12 months, 12 pictures, plus a front and back cover). With color photocopying of ~$1/pg (price might go down some depending on the volume) plus spiral binding, a single calendar falls into the ~$25 range.

One picture with 12 calendar months that get ripped off is obviously going to be much less. The months could also be printed on a lighter weight paper (not cardstock which is needed in the other scenario) also decreasing the cost.

The one picture could perhaps be a collage of images from the gatherings and here at the website...something to reflect "the spirit of bettermost." Okay, so it's not the men, but overall, as a project, it might be more feasible to execute.

Anyone here have any skill with photoshop and doing collages?

Like I said in a previous post, the members of another site where I modded tried to do this (I was also asked to model) and the admin came into the convo. He had these points to make.

#1. If the calendar sales are to support the site, it should state that somewhere on the calendar.

#2. The website's address and name should be displayed somewhere on the calendar.

#3. Most important. To legally protect the site (in this case, BetterMost) all the men who submit images MUST ALSO SUBMIT A WAIVER stating they give BetterMost permission to use their image for the calendar, and understand that any monies that are collected are going to the support of the website, and that they will not take any actions (legal or otherwise) against BetterMost.

Perhaps someone with some legal expertise can have some imput here.

Are we talking about just our Bettermost family or are we talking about selling it elsewhere?
If it is just for us thats one thing but to the general public? Oh Lord! :laugh:

A suggestion would be to change the name of the thread then. I wonder if other women like me have skipped this thread for months, thinking it didn't pertain to them. I didn't realize it was a thread talking about the actual BetterMost calendar until just now.

Okay, I did it. It required me to modify Truman's original post, but I think he'll forgive me.

It didn't occur to me that some women of BetterMost would think a collection of Men of BetterMost photos wouldn't pertain to them!

The marriage of Kenn and Tampatalon is featured this month. Go, celebrate, and enjoy!
