Title: Cards!!

I would love to send cards to all my friends here at bettermost!
If you would like to exchange Christmas cards (holiday cards of you don't celebrate Christmas).
Post your address here or just PM me! I think it would be really cool!  ;D

I also thought this would be a good Idea too.
I got this in an e-mail and regardless of our political views we all support our brave men and women who are fighting for us.
I wanted to pass this along because I thought it would be nice.

This is a really terrific idea!  The past few years I've been a slacker about sending holiday cards, but mayhap I'll improve.  Thank you, Richard, for posting the address for Walter Reed - a worthy cause, indeed.

            This is a spectacular idea.  I would definitely like to be a part of this.   I would like to be a sender and a receiver.   Thanks also for the address of the Walter Reed Med Center.  I will be sending my regards letting them know I support them.

I should have checked out the info about Walter Reed before I posted it!
Somone smarter than me did  ;D and this is the deal!

YOu can't send a card, letter or package addressed to any soldier, any wonded soldier, any rcovering soldier, etc etc, etc.

Glad you got my card Kelda!  I was wondering how long it would take it to reach you - it took 1 week.  I have Basset Hounds, and they're kind of slobbery at times, so the stamp is very appropriate for my household - most everything in my house is "sealed with dog slobber"!!!! ;D

You're welcome loneleeb3!  The card I sent sort of reminded me of Brokeback Mountain with the elks and the snow and the mountains.  I am happy that receiving my card brightened your day!!

I'm glad you got my card and that it brightened your day Richard  :) And I got yours as well. It also made my day. Thank you  ;D I have also received many cards from everyone else. It makes me feel good to get them. Someone was just saying the other day on TV how people don't write letters and such things anymore because of the internet. So it really does feel good to actually get something good in the mailbox. It's nice to see other people's writing and to see a real card instead of an electronic one. For those of you have not got cards from me yet they are definitely on the way. I just got a bunch sent off since I missed the mailman Saturday. I don't think I have sent this many cards out ever  ;D

Thanks for thinking of this idea Richard!!!

I hope to send cards again this year.  It's kinda nice, sitting down and having some hot cocoa or cider, reminiscing on the year - a very worthwhile ritual.  And so much fun to receive!

I went out shopping for Christmas cards this week. Asked for 'cowboy' themed Christmas cards (Richard sent me one last year!) ...

Went to Carlton Cards, Hallmark, heck I even cheched out 2 places in the gay village and no luck. I asked folks who were puttin em out and no one had seen any. (found my Studs & Spurs calendar though)

Anyone out there have better luck? (or am I the only one asking?)

Roland, eBay Canada has some Western-themed Christmas cards.  Maybe you'll find something you like over there.

Clarissa, as I understand it the only adresses which are exchanged are the ones of the people who agreed to this last year and who particpated in the Christmas cards exchange last year. I didn't participate (although I did so in another postcard exchange activitiy) and therefore retracted my wish to be included.

I got quite a list these days  :) I had several cards left over from last year, but I was afraid I might end up sending someone the same one I did last year so I bought some new ones today  ;)

Same here Richard. Mine will probably not go out until Tuesday. The weekend has gone by way too quickly and with me picking up a Christmas tree........well that even made less time available. In fact I still have to put balls on it  :)

Ah..OK...I'm all set to go with my cards this year!  I found some cool ones that I like a lot at Barnes and Noble, over by the Lights-Vigil-That-Wasn't.  They are very BrokebackMountainesque.  Who says procrastination doesn't pay?!

The important thing to remember is that these are Holiday cards...not out of some disclaimer of Christmas, but because I intend to take the full season, which means until Epiphany, to actually do them, can put some thought into what to write.

That's not unusual for me, but a weird thing I'm doing this year that I don't remember ever doing before is that I'm *hoarding* the ones I've received, like a squirrel with the last chestnut of winter.

They're going into a special pile by the Christmas tree.  I'm not sure what my plan is, Christmas Eve? Christmas Day?  But I'm not opening any until the time seems right.  It should be a celebration, with full focus, not at the same time you're opening the electric bill and the fast food inserts, IMHO.

Lynne, it sounds like you might even be a bit later than me in getting these cards sent out. Although I do have several more to send out tomorrow. I already sent out several on Friday and yesterday, but I still have more. I know some will not get to people by Christmas morning, but I do consider the season to last at least through New Years Day so hopefully everyone will receive them by then  ;D It does take me awhile cause I do write something in each one.

I usually send out sarcastic, irreverent cards, which match my humor.  This year, I sent out the cards that Rich would've sent out.

I had intended to go back to my usual cards next year, but I've received many compliments on my cards this year, so I may keep sending them.

I did have a few people who told me they missed the old, irreverent cards.
