Good Monday to Everyone.
It's a very wet and rainy Monday here and is likely to remain the same across the eastern half of the United States today as a bizarre snake-like twisting warm front creates downpours where winter's cold meets fall's lingering warmth. The good news is that it looks like parched Georgia and the rest of the southeastern U.S. are in for much needed rain. Meanwhile, the entire western half of the county is dry... too dry in southern California where wildfires broke out once again in the Southland, in the Malibu Hills. Several dozen additional homes were destroyed.
I've been dividing my time today between maleimagegallery.com, launching on Sheriff Roland's birthday (today) as I put the pieces together over there all while wrangling the news banner this afternoon (which turned out to be a real pain to construct). I hope folks appreciate the highlights we try and put up there.
Ellemeno is back in her administrative position after a short break, and she will be helping out with keeping the banner fresh and up-to-date. Be sure to check out the Topic of the Week this week and the Smiley story-telling, both linked today on the news banner.
Also, please be sure to review the other message in this forum today, because it impacts on every resident here.
If everything goes according to plan, we'll be retiring our fall theme later this evening, bringing out the Christmas colors for the holiday season, with a new banner image at the top as well. Whenever we do one of these switches, it can be a bit jarring because people get used to the colors that were here for the season before, so always give it a few days to settle in!
