Title: Marit Allen (BBM costume designer) has died
Post by: belbbmfan on December 03, 2007, 03:48:43 pm
I read this on the dave cullen site. The woman who gave us those iconic shirts has died, age 66.

I was unaware of this woman's name or her contribution (a centrally important one) to Brokeback Mountain. Those two shirts and Ennis's final line--"Jack, I swear"--say it all.

Her list of credits was an impressive one. It is sad to learn of her death (the second one, I believe [after editor Geraldine Peroni], of anyone who actively contributed to the film's creation).

Wonder if she did find other clothes for the BM movie, besides those famous shirt and denim jacket in it's last scene?

Hugs!
