Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?
Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?
Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?
Why is a boxing ring square?
Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?
Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?
Why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance that little indestructible black box is?

LOL I do that too!
I think I can answer that - because we think in auditory terms, literally "talking to ourselves." Even though we may not actually speak aloud, we associate thoughts with spoken words, and form words to express our thoughts, and "listen" to the subvocalized thoughts with our ears. Music interferes with that subvocalization and listening process which we would use while searching for something.

Why can't you sneeze without closing your eyes?

Why can't you sneeze without closing your eyes?
Someone told me when I was a kid, that if our eyes did not close when we sneezed, our eyeballs would go flying out of ther sockets.....

Would that apply to men, too ? :)

Tonight I'm wondering why when you wear a black jacket, a white hair always falls on it, and when you wear a light jacket, a dark hair falls out instead?? ???
