Interesting find, Elle.  I guess that's one way of working out your grief.  But that doesn't mean I'm up to watching it.  :(

And I guess I'm more cynical than you are :-\. I think it would be just another way to cash in on a tragedy.

The guy doesn't speak with an Australian accent.

No. Though to be honest, other than that he's not a terrible Heath, if you can say that about a guy who really doesn't look or sound at all like Heath playing Heath. Still, there's some kind of faint similarity there.

Is the older guy supposed to be Jack Nicholson? No similarity there whatsoever, but I thought I heard "Heath" call him "Jack," and then there was a sort of lecture on drugs and lifestyle.

It's like this is the filmed version of that Esquire piece.  :P

The Esquire piece (or I should say the things I read about the Esquire piece) troubled me.  The idea that someone would kind of take it to another level troubles me even more.  I share Chrissi's cynicism.  In both cases, I still ask myself, "What's the point?"

I think you are right.  That was the name of the piece - wasn't it?

Ack.  Ugh.  Feh.

I don´t want a movie about Heath Ledger. I don´t want him to become a phenomenon like River Phoenix or Elvis or James Dean, although I´m sure that will happen anyways. That´s so not what he was about and when people become "larger than life" they become almost mythical and who they really were gets lost somewhere along the way. I dont want that to happen to Heath Ledger. :-\

What a lovely way of putting it. Heath was a private man, except when he had to promote a movie. I cannot imagine anything he would hate more than a movie about himself. I can almost feel him cringing.

The only thing I think he would have liked would be an award from his acting peers. He mentioned in interviews that what pleased him most, family aside, was recognition and praise from respected actors.
I think that is what most of us like , praise from our fellow professionals, no matter the occupation.
