Title: US Pork Barrel Spending
Post by: David In Indy on June 01, 2008, 03:29:38 am
I know. It's a stupid question, isn't it?

$19 million to examine gas emissions from cow flatulence.

$107,000 to study the sex life of the Japanese quail.

$1.2 million to study the breeding habits of the woodchuck.

$150,000 to study the Hatfield-McCoy feud.

$144,000 to see if pigeons follow human economic laws.

$800,000 for a restroom on Mt. McKinley.

Oh, and here's a real kicker. I remember hearing several years ago the US Government spent approximately $1.5 million to study the benefits of glow in the dark toilet seats.

What do you think? What can we do about this? To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea of my hard earned $$ going towards the study of cow farts. >:(

But then again, I'm not particularly happy about my tax dollars funding these illegal wars either. >:(

It irritates me how they stick stupid stuff in bills that have nothing to do with the bill. They will have a bill for veterens benefits (just for example) then in a back page somewhere someone will stick in a 'provision' to pay some scientist to study worms.

 >:( >:(

I think they should have to vote on everything seperately.
