The winner or winners will receive a lamb from Ennis and Jack! (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j43/Davidindy/babylamb.jpg)

This item is approximately 11 inches long, made of wood and metal, and it was built in the 1860's.

What is it?

Here's a little bonus "What Is It?" for all of you. I was originally planning to post this one, but decided not to. But the pictures were already uploaded so we'll add this one in as a fun extra!

Very few details were given about it. It's roughly a foot tall and made of metal. It is hinged on three sides as you will notice below...

So ya'll go ahead and put your heads together and try to figure out what this thing is! Feel free PM each other, gossip, hoo-ha and hee-hee and what ever else you need to do in order to figure it out, and I'll reveal the answer at the conclusion of the game!  :D

Consider it a two-fer from me to you! ;)

Good luck!

I voted antique brick making machine....mainly because I didnt thnk it could be anything else on the list.

Now.......this bonus picture....looks to me like some old version of a campfire oven.

I voted for "antique brick making machine."  The bonus one is really intriguing.  I'll have to study that one a while.   Great job, David.  Thanks!  :)

Hello.  ;)

Hmmmm....the bonus--is it some kind of trap? Or are you gonna answer questions? LOL--20 questions.

You can make guess about it as often as you wish Shasta! :D

It DOES look quite a bit like a trap, doesn't it? ;)

Ist one, I voted coffee  grinder. The bonus one is very bemusing, I think it is connected to either heat .Maybe you open the small aperture and put hot coals in.It the opens up completely to allow for removal of the ashes. The aperture could also be used to control air flow and so temperature. It is pretty small so maybe a coal heater for camping. Not sure why it is pyramis shaped though.
I know it's an early prototype for that pyramid that Fergie,(Prince Andrews ex) used to sit in, to cleanse and enrich her life.As you can tell I am grasping at straws here,

1st guess -- trap
2nd guess -- noisemaker
3rd guess -- portable heater to carry in a stagecoach or wagon as you travel
More later if I think of some.

LOL to Optom at the Fergie connection.  :D

I voted for "Part of the chime mechanism from a church steeple." There seems to be some sort of clockwork cogs there?  ???

Would anyone else like to place a guess? I'll post the answer in a couple of days. :)

For the bonus object, I like Shasta's suggestion of a small, portable heater or warming device.  So, that's my guess too.

So, David, if we get both objects correct, do we get two lambs from Ennis and Jack?  Or is this still a one lamb game?

If you get both of them correct, you'll win a lamb from Ennis and Jack (for the main question) and something different for the bonus question. I haven't decided what the prize will be yet. :) :D

I just had an idea for the bonus thingie.
I think Shasta is right, it looks like you could put embers in it. But I don't think it was a portable heater. I think you put something over the pyramid to bring it into its correct shape. The heat helps fixing the form, and after it has gotten cold, the material (felt for example) stays in that pyramid shape.

You could make pyramid formed felt hats .

Well guess who's just as daft. I sat in my youngest sons wigwam at one stage as it was sort of pyramid shaped.I was having a rough time and thought it was hardlygoing to harm me. Well surprise, surprise, it didn't do any good either.
Is it any wonder I am medicated.
However I have just been reading that wigwams/teepees are now the latest must have.Kate Moss and Jade Jagger have them in their gardens.
Boy was I ever ahead of my time !! What a trendsetter.

Well it would have been if I hadn't been so busy checking for creepy crawlies, and about to turn blue from the cold.
Fergie and Diana(also a pyramid believer) had the luxury of Kensington Palace.!!!!

Oh, and at least one person DID win a lamb this time around.

AND.... somebody was soooo close to guessing the answer to the bonus question I'll consider it a correct answer. :)

Okay, it's time to announce the answer and hand out the lambs to the winners!  :D

The answer is..........................................

The answer is............................

The answer is.................................................................

The answer is...................................................................................

(I sound like a broken record, don't I?)

The answer is........................................................................

AN ANTIQUE BRICK MAKING MACHINE!!!!!

So this means there are three lambs to hand out.........

Marie gets a lamb from Ennis and Jack...........(http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j43/Davidindy/babylamb.jpg)

Shasta gets a lamb from Ennis and Jack............(http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j43/Davidindy/babylamb.jpg)

Sue gets a lamb from Ennis and Jack................(http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j43/Davidindy/babylamb.jpg)

Congratulations to you all! :D

Now for the bonus question. Nobody made an exact guess, but SHASTA came VEEEEEEERY close. Shasta guessed it was a trap, and it is! It is a live skeet trap. A live bird would be placed inside the trap, the sides would be closed, and when the shooter was ready, the trap would be opened up by yanking a cord. The bird would fly out and they would try to shoot it! >:(  :'(  :'(

So, Shasta gets a bunny!

Congratulations Shasta!!! :D

Thanks everyone for playing! I'll post another game in a few days. :)

Shasta, I hope you'll be happy with the bunny from my breeding line ;). I gave David a couple of them last year and since then he desperately tries to get a hold on the rocketing number of bunnies in his household:

LOL on the breeding rabbits, Chrissi---but no thanks. I try to keep them from dropping litters in my backyard already. My dogs find the babies, then I have to rescue the babies from the dogs---and the poor little things usually die. So I'll pass on that!!

Hi David!
