Title: Today I let go...
Post by: RouxB on June 29, 2006, 08:09:26 pm
I let someone borrow my DVD AND my story to screen play.

I'm feeling a bit traumatized.

Wow!  Today I sent off a copy of the DVD-widescreen and Close Range to a friend of mine for his birthday!  Maybe we're all feeling the need to spread the Brokie-love around a bit lately.  But, I kept my own copies close at hand.  Yup, it would be hard to lend them out.  I'll add to the sentiments here... it was a good deed.
 :)

Oh, you are too brave. I know I would go through withdrawls and have DT's! I'm not willing to take that risk. I need my fix at least once a day.  ;)

:) I'm not sure I could do that yet - I also have the special academy/media book that I bought on eBay and have never
even let anyone see it - it lives next to the audio version of the story and the story to screenplay - I still hear the
"stop the madness" thing from my daughter, but BBM is still very much a part of my life........... :D

I couldn't do it. To begin with, I've had unfortunate experiences with lending things like books.

Ain't no way I'm ever lettin' the DVD outta my sights. And it didn't take me a year to figure that out!  ::)

Daves' Rule number 3: Never loan anything out that you want back.   This way it becomes a gift.    :)

Rouxb -

You clearly have strength of character!   Knowing that it would possibly be forever before I could do that, I bought 5 copies of the DVD & 3 copies of the Story to Screenplay.

2 DVD's & books for me - just in case...  :-\
1 DVD & book for my oldest son,
1 DVD for my youngest son, and
1 as a loaner.

Like Jeff, I have lent out too many books in my life that I have never seen again, so there is no way on this earth that I would let my story to screenplay out of my hands. In fact, lately I don't even let it out of my reliquary!

Wow, Elle, tell me what is so much better about the fullscreen? I know Julie was talking about something that you could see better in the Motel scene (more of Ennis holding Jack's wrist?), but in general I thought that widescreen was preferrable to full. Enlighten me!

Jenny, fullscreen is sposed to be "better" only cause you can generally see more of the screen. And its just good to get a bit more of an eyefull of the boys.  For example, after the first tent scene, in the fullscreen version, you can basically see Heath's bottom as he pulls his jeans up.. etc..

I'm a widescreen girl myself. You just need to have either a large screen T.V. or home theater .... that gives you plenty to see ...  ;)
