I was thinking about whether or not we should come up with a cooler name for this forum other than just listing it by Pierre's name. It could be Pierre Tremblay's Place, or whatever. I'll leave it up to you guys to discuss it.
I am terrible at creative forum names, so if you have suggestions to make any of the current forum names on BetterMost better, I'd love to hear suggestions. BTW, as you explore the system, there are always moderator opportunities open to several of our existing forums. Also keep in mind I can launch new forums quite easily, so if a subject isn't being covered, or if you'd like a sub-forum established to do specific projects (like the haikus, or the ABC game I heard about, or anything else), it's incredibly easy to set up. Just tell me what you need.

But you're good at everything else! Can you tell I love it here?! It makes me so happy...
(I don't have an idea for a name, I just wanted to give a lil compliment and try out this quote thing)

As you know, in our old home, it was Chez Tremblay and we were all known (affectionately) as Tremblayans (or some wrote Tremblayians)
also Knights Tremblay, on occasion
-
How about Chez Tremblay? That's what we were referring to the old home as... just a thought!
-
Chez Tremblay was what we called it on IMDb.....no sense breakin tradition......???

If people will keep giving their views on that suggested name, if the consensus is that it works for everyone, I'll change it tonight!
-
Chez Tremblay works for me!
-
Phillip - works for me and thanks!........................ :)
-
Chez Tremblay.
-
I think Tremblay Brokies sounds best. It accurately describes who the people are here more than "Chez Tremblay". Not just "Brokies" but the "Tremblay" Brokies. *Unique*.
That's my vote, and that's how I've always thought of it.
-
I prefer Chez Tremblay myself.
Did I ever tell you guys that until someone pointed it out on the IMDb message board, I thought it was Better Moist Beans?
-
Hmm I'm slow but what does Chez mean lol
-
Definite vote for Chez Tremblay!
-
It's some of that fancy french speakin'. Means house, casa, etc.
Atleast that's what I think it means.
-
Yeah its kinda like home......
-
Ohh ok is it pronounced "Schay" ?
-
Yup. Pronounced "shay" translated means house (in the possessive sense). So Chez Nicole would be Nicole's house.
-
Oooh ok well thanks for the lesson ;D I guess I vote for Chez Tremblay too
-
Chez Tremblay for me!!
-
Chez Tremblay for me also! :o
-
I vote for Chez Tremblay
-
I like Chez Tremblay, too, because 1) it has a certain "je ne sais quoi" air about it; and 2) it honors our French hosts, Pierre and Nicole.

I'm all for "Chez Tremblay" too!
You can also translate 'chez' with 'at' -> "chez moi" : at my place.. or "sonner chez quelqu'un" -> ringing(?) someone's door bell.

One more vote for Chez Tremblay.
I have a friend whose surname is Tremblay (no surprise, he's French-Canadian). I've never told him that, in a way I can't quite describe, he means more to me than he used to.
-
I still think my name is far better. OH well.
-
BETTERMOST is SO much bettter than the pseudo-French, snooty, Chez Tremblasy--it isn't even FUNNY! You guys all have your taste in your left arm...
Haha Julie, that's how I feel about "Chez Tremblay" sounds more like "Cheezy Tremblay" to me, but if that's what people want, then there it is.
-
Hey, Julie. They are not thinking about changing the name of the whole forum. Better Most stands.
Currently, this particular section is called Pierre Tremblay. People (excluding Surf. Hi, Surf, you know I love you) want it to be called Chez Tremblay.

It doesn't matter to me, really. You could call this forum "Poop" (which, it seems, we are about to anyway) and it wouldn't stop me from posting messages. (Snarky, yes, that's my middle name - or worse). ::)
-
Surf--the only way i could get rid of a dumb picture I posted was to delete my thread!
PLEASE keep "BetterMost" --it's SO much bertter than the pseudo-French, snooty "Chez Tremblay." Whcih made me wince every time i read it on the CT boards! What is WRONG with this damn thing? I can't get rid of the falase "pcture links"==threy won't go away---AND.. "You cant report your own post to the moderator. It just doesn't make sense!"
Oh well. I have posted some pictures, but those aren't they.
It SAYS :CAN WE MAKE THE FORUM NAME BETTER? so I assumed you meant THIS forum...of course Chez Tremblay should stay the way it is...too much of a hassle to change it anyway...and people are used to it. Even if it is pseudo-French, and snooty. "Chez" somwewhere in Paqris, not here...
Why does sparkle say wew are about to either call this thing "poop" or are about to poop? Just idly curious, nothing more.
-
CT = Chez Tremblay, by the way.
-
I would be glad to not have Pierre Tremblay's full name in our title. That has been worrying me a little. Since Chez Tremblay is the overwhelming favorite of almost everybody who has opined, I cast my support to it.
-
O.K. er..WHY is this section called "Chez Tremblay"? Is it about Chez Tremblay? Anything to keep sparkle from calling me poop...keep it alkready...

Exactly, that's why "Tremblay Brokies" is better. It is an accurate description of who is here and where they came from, who members are. Brokies. But a certain *group* of Brokies.
-
Ugh the name stinks bu I"m drunk so I'm speaking my mind hell well no different from wehn I'm sober hahahahahah.
-
Yup. Pronounced "shay" translated means house (in the possessive sense). So Chez Nicole would be Nicole's house.
Actually, it means "at -----'s [place]" so "at Chez Tremblay" is a tautology that makes my hackles rise.
"Maison Tremblay" would be Tremblay House, which I would vote for it were being offered from scratch, but Chez Tremblay is too well established now. Let's stick with it.
-
How about El Rancho Tremblay?
Or Pierre's Cow and Calf Operation?
Or That Place in Dubois?
Riverton's Brokies sound too much like a team of smoke jumpers.
How about: The Knife and Fork? Pokey Little Place? Islands of the Sea?
EDITED TO ADD: Lightning's Flat
Or Chez Tremblay...hey, that's got a nice sound!
-
Chez Tremblay works for me.
But other suggestions are:
Trembaly County Paranoia Rehab Clinic
Pierreside Troll Slayer Retirement Village[/tt]
The Vic & Ell Happy Farm
Mecca
.....or maybe Chez Tremblay!
-
Hi - just dropping by for a minute...
Chez Tremblay works for me.

This might be just right! The name has already been changed on-line to Chez Tremblay, which makes sense just in terms of popular usage - folks have been informally calling it this for a long time so why not use it?
Phillip - thanks for spending so much time here with everyone as we get used to this new home - whatever it's called.
-
Haha, yours are great, Del!
-
Yay Del and Ray!
I know, how about "Home."
