Title: Is...?
Post by: Kelda on March 31, 2006, 03:22:55 pm
There some kind of plan for copying over the threads we all saved?

I have a few sitting at work and a few on my PC at home (I'm at my sisters babysitting just now..and my 8 years old niece wants me off the computer so she can play on a kiddie maths website! geesh!) but not sure whether they are already on or if I should or if one person alone is loading them on etc... ??

I also saved a good few in the 'view source' format... so its all gobeldy gook but it apparently will make sense somehow?

I can't believe how quickly this board has erupted - actually I can - we are all just so glad of the peace and its lovely to see so many familiar posting names! (PS who has changed theirs? Just so I know who is who!!)

Plus! No posting limit! woohoo!!

I suggested an "archives" thread as a sticky. We'll see...

If you want, we can create a sub-board called Archives for the treasured posts of days and weeks gone past, or you can post them right here.

I have a policy of not deleting messages here because of age.  What you write will stay here as long as this board stays here.  We make nightly backups as well, so if a tragedy struck, we'll still have the messages.

We suffered through the tragedy in the film.  There is no way anyone needs to be victimized by having their messages aged out of existence or deleted by marauders.

Phillip,
This site is wonderful.  A pleasure to be here - keep finding new great features.  And that's just the technical stuff.  That you have offered a refuge in every sense of the word, for people and ideas, means so much.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

Awww!  This is great!  I love these old, historic threads.  The "origins of BetterMost" is such a fascinating topic.

Yeah, looking at the very earliest pages of CT and Open Forum (and a few other really old forums) is really a trip down memory lane.
