It's so cold outside when I tried to light a fire the flame froze.
It's so cold outside people are driving to northern Canada to get warm.

When it is very cold in England we say, it's brass monkey weather.
One Bettermostian knows the naval origins of that phrase, I cannot recall it or the resident. Maybe someone will remember, I know it is an amusing explanation.

That was Kerry, Fiona who sent in an explanation of how that saying "Brass monkeys" came about.
I remember one time, going to a kids football match, and it was fairly cold by our standards.....and someone said.....
"Mate its cold......aint never gonna believe that hell is hot".......

I've heard people around here say it's colder than brass monkey balls.
:-\ :-\
I'm not sure what that means exactly. But lots of things come to mind...

It's so damn cold outside by the time I got to my car I was transgendered.

It's so cold outside I climbed into the refrigerator to get warm.
Speaking of which, something weird happened to me a little while ago. I have a refrigerator in my garage. I use to store my bottled water, coke, etc. I also use it to store meat, chicken, bread etc (in the freezer section) when I buy too much at the grocery store.
Anyway!
I went out there tonight and opened it up and a bunch of mist filled the inside. Like fog. Apparently my garage is colder than the inside of the refrigerator and freezer. :P
And my garage is heated. But I keep the temperature out there much lower than in the rest of the house and I guess the furnace cannot keep up with all the cold coming in through the walls in there. :-\

It's so damn cold outside, when I decided to give myself a haircut, instead of using scissors I stood outside and snapped it off.
