First, let me say that I'm pleased to be moderating this forum as I asked to be reassigned here. I do post quite a lot on this forum!
All forums have basically the same rules - that we respect one another, and that we consider how our comments might be perceived by others - try not to offend, and if you have been hurt by a comment, use the private message system to express your feelings. This should continue to be a better place to come & relate to people with similar interests.
Also, since some of these threads involve the posting of pictures, please remember that frontal nudity will not be allowed - as Phillip said on more than one of the threads: "Please keep all pics clean - no [frontal] nudity, please. It violates our contract with our hosting company." This includes frontal nudity from every angle + Due to recent inquiries, no bum holes either.
Otherwise have fun with this forum - just don't forget

The New Yorker Magazine
(http://www.cartoonbank.com/assets/2/50920_l.jpg)
Just a note to remind everyone that it was on October 13, 1997
NINE YEARS AGO
that Annie Proulx saw the publication of
Brokeback Mountain
in this edition of The New Yorker Magazine.
since then it has appeared in their magazine as
a movie review,
a spoken word recording by Suzy Amis
and grist for their cartoons

What if I dont want to be Jack or Ennis.
Thank You Annie and The New Yorker
for getting Brokeback off to a start.

Anybody notice that the beefcake starts at the EIGHTH position this a.m.? Beefcake and books, what a great combination. I love BetterMost!!
-
OK - It's about ta happen again. Some months ago "Anything Goes" moved up ta 4th place as the (4th) busiest forum in all a BetterMost (when it surpassed the "Open Forum"). This was shortlived, as the even more busy "Fanfiction" forum leapfrogged ahead a both, ta push "Anything Goes" back in 5th.
Well, a couple a 3 months later & here we are again - on the cusp a passin yet another forum (the "ABC/123 game" forum) ta return ta 4th place -----> just a few moments ago, we were just a mere 10 posts behind 'em. Anke, Milli, Dottie & Kerry - let's get the champagne, German bear, sausages, cherry cake and fireworks ready fer another celebration - should be happ'nin sometime this evenin, I should think!

The pic at the top of the page with all the lovely Brokies in it...where was it taken? I know it´s where Jack sat up his pup tent up on Brokeback, but exactly where in Alberta is it? It it close to the location of campsite #1?

That picture was taken on Bokenback Mountain - in Wyoming, not in Alberta.
For more information, you might want to ask (PM) Front Ranger. She's a bit of an expert on that region.

Hm..are you sure?
You see, I have a picture on my wall with Jack, the tent and sheep...and it´s the exact same background as in the pic with all the Brokies. It should be in Alberta somewhere.

Oops! - I got it wrong.
I thought I had read "Brokenback"
Though I have been to Alberta (nearly 2 years ago), I didn't get to see that spot "Jack, the tent and sheep" as, (if I recall correctly,) it was off the beaten path - had to be reached by horseback. Not exactly sure who made that treck. Hope someone else chimes in with your information.
Just noticed the date - 2004 - which means that those folks in the picture were still in the process of making the picture.
-
oh yeah...it´s not Brokies at all. It´s the film crew. O0
*bang head in desk*
Thanks for clearing that up, SR!
