Hey Tremblayans!

Our own Henry (ninisin) has submitted a photo taken during the Wyo. Roundup to National Geographic Travel. Some of you might recognize one of the objects in the pic.  :)

Please go vote for his photo and support your fellow Brokie

I experienced the same thing Shasta. I don't know how to do it. Rouxb, do you know what we are supposed to do in order to vote for his picture?

Okay, when I do all of that and I see his picture, it says "Thank You For Voting". So then I must have voted?

Then it says "4 votes"

I am just worried my vote didn't go through somehow. I'm just trying to make certain I did everything correctly.

you will need to type in the web address rather than clinking on the link. It keeps reading my IP address and not letting you vote.
sorry for all the kerfuffle!

I just went there and got "thanks for voting" before I thought I even voted, but it does say there are 5 votes, so maybe it did accept my vote?   Frustrating.  Nice photo though!

strange.

I didn't use the link....I typed the address in myself, when I got to the selections page, it had said I already voted.

 ???

but I didn't.

I still have no idea how it works (or doesn't work) but I found this on their page:

From their page:

In order to vote you need to provide a valid email address, and only one vote per email address is possible. If after voting the first time, you decide to vote for another image, the first image you voted for will lose that vote.

So I went and registered. Still Henry's pic was on 5 votes and told me "thanks for voting". But: I then was able to change my vote to another pic, and Henry's count went down to 4 votes. Then I voted for Henry's pic, and it was back to 5 votes.

I still don't understand how it exactly works, but it may be that if you click the permalink, it counts your vote automatically and at the same time registers your IP.

I put the permalink here, would someone please click on it and tell us if Henry's count gets up to 6 when they clicked it?

Oh, I have an idea: maybe it registers (somehow) the site from which you were linked to their site. So if we put the link on BM, only the first who follows the link from BM can really vote. For the rest, the system will think they already have voted and doesn't count those voets.

I'm far of being sure though. It's just an idea... ???

I just tried, and it now shows 6 votes.

I'll try from home as well and see if it goes to 7.
