Title: Freddie Fender
Post by: Shakesthecoffecan on August 03, 2006, 09:15:50 pm
Bad news today about Freddie Fender:

This got me to thinking how he had hits at a time Jack and ennis would have been listening, and realized how this movie connected me to that time. I don't believe I had ever realized that before.

That is sad news. God bless his sweet heart, annd may his family and friends find comfort in the trying times ahead. My sister once had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fender--I know she will be saddened by this news.

I always thought he had a very friendly voice.  I've been wracking my brain - I think he sang a song in my other favorite movie, Lone Star.  It was a Spanish version of a popular original-English song.  None of his hits are on iTunes.  I wonder why.

How did I miss this the first time around.  So sad.
