Roland!
Thanks so much for posting the beautiful pictures of your flower garden. I have a Media Center PC and it pans and scrolls pictures beautifully. When I woke up dead on August 12, they were in 3-D! Your flower petals literally popped out of my screen. One of the best experiences of the day!

I did something a little crazy this past month, cause I'm retiring at the end of March.
There's this play L'écho d'un peuple http://echodunpeuple.ca/ being performed in Casselman for the past 5 years. It's a high class performance, using as many as 250 performers on stage, mostly volunteers, and the show only happens in the summertime in an open air theatre. They're hoping to raise 200 000$ in donations and if they do, they'll be able to get a governmental grant of equal value. Play's about the history of the French in North America, including Ontario - it was written by two (fairly locally well know) franco-ontariens.
Anyways ... I did a fundraiser for the play at our little (146 kids) school. Told em if they brought in an average of 1$ per student, I would shave off the hair off my head. they did, and so, on Wednesday, I did
This is this morning's photos - I haven't yet received the collection of pics as the deed was getting done

Oh, and the awful painting in the background is something I tried to do about 30 years ago.
My nephew use to say "Look at the airplane disappearing behind the trees." He had to explain himself (do I?)

About an inch away from the top of my head, in the last picture (about an inch away from the frame (left side)), there's a branch sticking out from the snow heavy tree. It's in the shape of a plane - see it now? - Raymond had to show it by getting real close to the picture and point to that branch. It's a disappearing airplane cause hardly any of us ever saw it, until it was pointed out to us.

Pas très bien, mais quand j'ai fait mes études supérieures à l'Université d'Ottawa, j'ai donner des cours de piano dans une petite ville près de la capitale. C'était peut-être à Hawkesbury.

Oh, that's where I live... In The Hawkesbury.
But it's a region, here, not a town, just over 50 km North West of Sydney.
You'd love it, Roland. :)

Well, the chances of my loving it might just be a little more today, cause I just woke up (3:30am) to a cold house (the furnace's pilot light was out) and a newly layered inch of snow outside.
Last year, on this very date I took a picture of the outdoors where the snow of the previous week (a full foot's worth) had melted away, and spring had started in earnest. This year, There's still a foot's worth of packed snow on the lawn (and the driveway) - not to mention 2 feet high snow banks that just won't melt - and it's covered with a new inch of snow everywhere.
S'not right.
I wonder how much of that stuff'll fall THIS time before it's all over ...
-
Suddenly "Before the Ice Age" is taking on a new meaning.... ;D

Oh, I came to THAT realization a couple a weeks ago - when they had a SNOW DAY in early March!!
And for those of you not privy to THIS post ....
Oh & it snowed overnight - It was lovely :) - an inch of snow everywhere. Guess I could go and take a picture of it - though the roads don't look as pristine as they did this morning.
Hey! They're saying more snow tomorrow :D Heavy at times too!! (http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_210.gif)
and MORE snow predicted for Friday (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m252/RiverIsMyGoddess/icons/smiley_zzrofl2.gif)
No! I'm not going crazy!!!
-
yes, yes you ARE going crazy!
-
I shaved off the cheeks - not enough there, so I've gotta satisfy myself with just a goatee
Happy Easter Monday everyone!! (It's a holiday here in Canada :) )

Aren't you going to get even colder without the cheeks ?
(Well, every little bit helps)

Naw - we Canadians are a hardy bunch
Besides - I've not had facial hair in a long time; I removed the mustache some 5 years ago.
And further, I'm a hermit - I stay indoors a lot ...
5 more work days before retirement ;D
