Title: Seeking a Hand-Held Thingamabob
Post by: Front-Ranger on August 31, 2006, 08:10:39 pm
I was thinking about getting one of these thingamabobs so I could check out the Bettermost board on the road. Does anyone have a recommendation? Treo or I-pod? I am clueless about all this stuff but I am due for a tech fixx, so any ideas are welcome.

Hi Lee, I recently upgraded my Palm and got wifi in it for the first time.  I am very happy with it.  It is a Palm T/X, which I think is the lowest cost of the wifi-capable Palms.  I don't check things like the Performance thread on it, because iI know the images won't come across well enough, but the text-only threads are great that way.

Thanks for the Palm recommendation. What's the price for a wi-fi equipped Palm? Anybody have any experience with Treos? I don't suppose there are any ipods that can do this kind of thing?

There are Video iPods that I believe are internet savvy.  I'm not 100% sure, but you can check it out here:

Also, some company (Motorola?) collaborated with Apple to produce a cell phone-iPod combo.  That is internet capable, for sure.

Cheers!

I finally got one of these, it's a Treo by Palm. I need to call, textmessage, email, and send pics to people in order to figure out how it works. Let me know if you'd like to do the same!
