Title: New Poll - Top Gay Films of the last 30 years.
Post by: CellarDweller on March 26, 2011, 09:16:59 am
It's a poll of the top gay movies of the top 30 years.  Brokeback is currently #1, and Milk is a close second.  You can vote for more than one film.

Neat poll, thanks, Chuck.  I didn't realize there were so many gay films made in that period, and I also didn't know some of them actually had a gay character or theme.

Anyone notice "Crash" is on the list.  (But the one from 1996.)

Hi Meryl,
I agree that some seem to barely qualify for the category.  And, IMO some of these films include rather negative portrayals of LGBT characters.

And, while there are some good lesbian films on the list, there are also some big lesbian movies not on the list... which somehow doesn't surprise me.

Still, I voted for quite a lot...

I voted for:

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Maurice
Paris is Burning
The Crying Game
Antonia's Line
Bound
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Trick
Velvet Goldmine
Aimee and Jaguar
But I'm a Cheerleader
Boys Don't Cry
Tipping the Velvet
Brokeback Mountain
