Title: Shelter
Post by: chowhound on January 01, 2013, 04:40:16 pm
Has anyone else come across a gay surfer movie set in California in 2007? I loaned it from my local video store over the weekend so it looks as though it's fairly readily available.

It's low budget, is rather jerkily edited and has some awkward moments in both dialogue and performance. That said, it's nevertheless a very upbeat tale of problems and difficulties overcome until the "sweet life" is finally achieved. If you're looking for something not too demanding and essentially warm hearted with which to begin the New Year, this could be it.

I´ve seen it too and thought it was a cute movie. I didn´t get emotionally involved, but thought it was a well-intentioned and rather well-acted. I know many people loved it though!

I have this one on DVD. It's pretty good. It's not Brokeback Mountain good, but it is pretty good.

I think I bought it on the Barnes & Noble website. Or maybe Amazon.
