This is a little off-topic... but not really...
One time I was watching Sleepless in Seattle on TNT... and you know how when they cut to commercials and it's brought to you by this core sponsor and they run those commercials first during every single commercial break? Well during the Sleepless in Seattle broadcast -- and I am not making this up -- it was brought to me by Lunesta (which, if you didn't know, is a popular sleeping aid). Sadly, I found it to be one of the most amusing things I've seen in quite some time... it was just one of those things that was absolutely perfect in every way.
I'm a huge Meg Ryan fan, so it made one awesome movie even better -- and usually the commercials and edits and the fullscreen is such a turnoff... and yet, I was so jazzed to be watching it and seeing Lunesta commercials over and over again. It was one of those things where you sigh and know that everything is right in the world. Why can't all movie broadcasts be like that?

This is one fantastic thread, Thank you!! But seen as I hardly ever watch TV, and go and make tea/coffee or have a pee when the commercials come on (only ONE channel has them in the middle of films here), I cannot think of anything yet. I'll try!

This may need some explaining: for those who have read the short story, you know that Ennis entered Jack "with the help of the clear slick and some spit". Well, in the French translation of the story, the 'clear slick' becomes 'gomina' ('hair cream', or 'Brylcreem'). I had a good laugh when I read that, SO... that gave me an idea for a commercial during BBM!

There's a new TV commercial in France, for a cereal bar called "Granny" (!). The backdrop is a conspicuous Brokeback-like mountain range, and the catch phrase is:
"Granny: a force of nature". Looks like BBM has made it into popular culture!
