Title: What's your HAPPY music?

So I've got my HD music playing on shuffle and Wham's 'I'm Your Man' comes on, and immediately my mood lifted and I started shuffling my arse in the chair and bobbing my head and smiling a lot. Don't you find that some music just does that for you, no matter how bad a mood you're in?

So I wondered what tracks / pieces of music y'all listen to that are GUARANTEED to make you feel ridiculously cheerful?

My contender for happiest music of all time is HERB ALPERT 'TIJUANA TAXI'. Everyone I've ever played it to has ended up grinning like an idiot by the last note (or rather, taxi horn honk!!). One friend was laughing so much she nearly pissed herself  ::). Here's a link to the first minute in case you've never heard it, although you miss out on the cool bit with the xylophone... ;D

Have to admit...I did smile...but it reminds me of the music from "The Dating Game".  Now I'm really dating myself.

;D I just left the dentist office, only two fillings needed, first this century.

I was a-laying' there with that tube in my mouth and the intercom started in:

"The Tide is High,
But I'm holding' on..."

That song has been in my life a quarter of a century now, and I always feel happy when I hear it. I have memories from high school forward associated with that song.

But my all time favorite:

"Wee DE de de, de we de de de de dedom bomblay!" ;D

- "Forca" means "carry on" or "strength" in Portuguese.

VH1 is playing that video all the time, and it's big on one of the NYC radio stations.

It's #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles this week.

:) Good! I hope she does well -- very nice voice! I hear part of that song on TV all the time -- it must be on a commercial or something.

That's the first time I've heard it. Very upbeat and I love all the smiley face images in the video. I'll be listening for it.
