A large writing project I undertook with several collaborators in 2005-06 prior to starting my fan fiction writing experiments is now in edits, and preparing for beta editing in serial form I have called "A Romance in the City of Slaves." I put it in a separate Livejournal community and opened it only to those who are on my Friends List for the Laramie Saga.

It isnt going anywhere soon. I have about 125,000 words in "beta draft" form for commentary, and will be serializing it on an adult content magazine as a collaborative effort with a friend who has been working on large serial magazines on the same concept as the "Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction." This will be along the same lines, offering the content as a whole and finished to subscribers, and making the free readers wait for the next monthly installment.
The book is much bigger, however. I have about "one year's worth" of subscriber material already in the LJ form and will then be taking a second cut at making the text more literary. So the longer you wait, the more refined the content will be!

I have been reading Romance in the City of Slaves for a few weeks now and i must say its very sexually charged. But there's more to it than that. I recommend it for a good read. I am humbled that louise has given me the pleasure and the chance to read this soon to be novel. SO THANKS LOUISE!

I'm glad to see you are still (or again) working on this. I thought maybe I missed some announcement saying you didn't have the time to add more content or something like that and was prepared to more or less wait it out. ;)
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the update. :)

I did not abandon this project. Unlike my other stories - this one is already written. The other writer for the story, Czaradas's player, has been busy with a seriously ill family member and has had little time to give input to the 149,000 words I wrote in the first nine sections ... and if you have been following my Daily Thoughts "Louise on Tour" you would know I have been around the world and back and been to three continents in four months doing consulting work, which has sapped much of my project energy, but I am still plugging away.
Last night I was able to spend some time with my co-author to go through some of the original additions I made to the story at section 9, and am prepared to go on.
The part that makes this story different from my "Greenlea" stories or my other original stories, is that the story was completed in spring of 2006, and it needs only to be edited and filled out with additional surrounding text. There is much, much, MUCH more to come! so to speak. ahem.
