Hey everyone. Some of you may remember a little while ago when Jenny & I kind of bet about the "broke in two" or "broken too" that Ennis says regarding the harmonica. Well, for my winning and as a grad gift, Jenny a.k.a. newyearsday sent me a mini-harmonica charm, and I LOVE it, it's so cute. Thanks so much Jenny hun, big *MUAH*
:-* :-* :-*

Yay Mandy! I'm so glad it got there safe 'n' sound and not "broke in two"!!
I actually got my own--I couldn't resist. It's on my key chain. Mandy, if you want to learn some easy songs, you can play "Oh Susanna," "When the Saints Go Marching In," and "My Darling Clementine" on that thing!! I'll see if I can find you some directions. I learned those three a looooong time ago. Been trying to figure out things like "One" by U2, but it's a bit harder!
so, as I like to say, Mandy, 'You bet' and you won!!
Happy Harmonicizing!

Didn't someone give them out to our 7 (or 9) at the Angless Angfest in Venice, California...neat pendant!
Oh how i wish I'd gone...

There was one more person than i expected at AnglessFest, so I gave away my harmonica to them. I just got a new one. I decided it's the only gift I'm giving this year to people of any age. Who doesn't love a harmonica?
Julie, PM me your mailing address.

Ooh, Clarissa, where do you get the harmonicas?

Hey! I know I'm a bad brokie for being so absent here lately, but I'll try to make up for it this weekend at the brunch and here! ALSO, I am so excited Mandy, because I have just figured out how to play "If you want to sing out, sing out" by Cat Stevens on the mini harmonica!!!!!
I'll try to send you directions! It's such a great song, I was laughing to myself all along the way to the subway.

Okay, I will practice a little more at lunch today, and then try to make some kind of notation for it, like this maybe:
This notation assumes you are holding the harmonica so the low notes are to the left and the high notes to the right. The *s are the blow holes, and O means blow OUT on that hole and the I means INHALE on it (in this case the first and second holes). Repeat that twice. That's the first guitar bit before the words. I won't bother with the timing, if you know the song you'll do it automatically, with a rest in between the two measures. More later! You can also play around with it. That's how I figured it out. It's fun that way!
