Title: The Lounge
Post by: Phillip Dampier on April 24, 2006, 10:36:40 pm
As an experiment, since people seem to be indicating traffic has dropped somewhat, I am starting a general chitchat thread here called The Lounge in the tradition of the NC17 thread.  It's partly to test a theory that we need a lot of people in one place to make a general conversation thread work, and that may have gone away when the NC17 thread was moved to Anything Goes.

So feel free to let this thread rip, rock and roll....

I'm not sure what we should be talking about.  I read in the "Anything goes" room that R2D2, or whatever the hell it was called, stopped working because it was moved to another section and we are too lazy to follow, so I guess we need to talk about smut, dirt, and unbridled horniness.  I left all of that in my other pants.

Question, how is this different than the chat room? By the way, you can check to see who's in the chat room before entering. There is a button called "Who's on the chat?" in the upper right corner. I do this often and most of the time there's no one there.

I tried the chat room last night, can't remember what time.  The look of it is really cool.  But I was there alone for like 20 minutes so I left.

Okayokay. The best place I ever had sex was on a coach with my then Boyf.  We were half way between there and planet Z when I got the urge to pull out his watzit and go for a guzzle.  It was the wee hours and the coach was chokkas and any sound could be heard all the way to TimbucKtoo, but we managed to blow the load in silence and we woke every passenger up afterward with our satisfied giggles and gaffawing.  i've never had a stonk as raunchy as that coach trip!

The difference with chat is that the messages aren't stored there.

I am trying different experiments to see what generates a lot of fast moving traffic and messages and what doesn't.  Anything Goes, this forum, the chat room... it's all part of the rich tapestry of life.  :)

The button may help, plus we are going to integrate some sort of list of current users in chat visible in the forums as well so people can figure out where everybody is hanging out.

Most interesting place I ever had sex was on a roof, evening, right in the middle of a densely populated city neighborhood.  My house was at the top of the hill, though, and taller than its neighbors.  So probably no onlookers but quizas, quizas?

Is that what this thread is about?

Ray?@!

Hey, I found out my current (female) next-door neighbor's sleepover partner was a woman because we heard them goin' at it one night across the  yard and couldn't tell from that, but afterwards the giggling was all-girl.  Tee-hee.

I am in a VERY boring conference all, so I sneak out here to see what are you talking about.  :)

Weather here is good, Sunny, 75 degree.

I checked the chat room a few times, most of the times, it's empty.  Personally I like message board than chat for this group since we are all in different time zones and stuff.  I like to read what have been discussed when I can not join the conversation (hi, that’s my lurking nature ;)).

Couch Stories-

When I was in college, my 3 roommates, 2 of their boyfriends and my boyfriend were sitting in the living room on a Sunday afternoon. I was sitting on my boyfriend's lap-long skirt-and he became "appreciative". Being the accommodating girlfriend that I was, I managed to impale myself on his, uh, thingy, and we kinda went at it right then and there with everyone just chattin away oblivious. Disengaging discreetly did pose a problem.

Nicely put, Ray, and yes I agree.

Ray, your post reminds me:  my stepmother lost her virginity to a gay friend.  She really wanted to get rid of that alabtross and she asked him if he would "do her a favor."  He obliged, and afterwards he did her hair.  Now THAT is a friend.  But he probably didn't send her off to church, or shule.

That boyfriend left me with many stories to tell...

I don't know if it was love and just randy maleness but whenever he would see me he would get, ummmmm, engorged. Well, one afternoon he was entertaining friends in his apartment when I stopped by after class. I walked through the door and he motioned me over to where he was sitting in the corner. He stood up, pup tent pitched, held me in front of him and marched me into the bedroom-with his guests just hanging out.
Title: Re: The Lounge
Post by: henrypie on April 28, 2006, 04:40:13 pm

Yeah, it's kinda hot.
How come my current partner doesn't get "appreciative" all the time?  Hmm.
Anyone watch Curb Your Enthusiasm?
If so/if not, there's an episode in which Larry tells his wife that she can simply "tap him on the shoulder" anytime she ever wants to have sex, because he'll be ready.  She's the limiter, not he.  But one night she taps him on the shoulder, and he's not interested.  "I'm all tapped out," he says.

NEVER tapped out!

Now I'm laughing at myself!

Once again, afternoon in his apartment. He is standing in the kitchen, talking to the next door neighbor through the window. I am also in the kitchen, kneeling on the floor...

Howdy all CTers... this thread is sweet to see, a little bittersweet, at the beginning especially with all those people we don't see anymore (the ones now called "guests" and the Sparkles, Henrypies, and Rays of sunshine...(sigh)...but glad we're still here anyways. back to the bar!

Ok,  I just thought it was unessasary to have two alike threads.      But seeing that the NC-17 thread is pretty much retired with the absence of rt and Brandon, we can just keep plugging the Lounge.

I love Scotts idea about the Male go-go dancers!!   Bring them on!

I just hired a new bar tender for this lounge by the way.  Here is his picture.

They look like urban cowboys to me.  The West Hollywood variety.  Was that photo taken after a Brokeback party.  ;D  Well the pickup truck lends an air of authenticity.

No doubt they've got some gorgeous real cowboys as I've seen a photo shoot done by  Bruce Weber after BBM came out.  I still have the magazine around. Glad they were willing to pose for the camera.  Probably didn't know what INTERVIEW magazine was.

"Are you a real cowboy?"  Where did I hear that from.

I'm not sure I would, either, but I have high aesthetic standards. If I want to see an image of some naked guy with "too much" around the middle, I'll take off my clothes and stand in front of a full-length mirror.  :D

Now, this photo reminds me of a scene in The Cowboy Way (which I highly recommend as some not-so-high-class entertainment). Woody Harrelson, who has been "doing it" with some guy's wife, comes out on the porch of his house, wearing only his boots and holding his hat over his crotch, to speak to Kiefer Sutherland. Woody momentarily takes his hand away from his hat, and the hat does not fall.  ;D (You have to watch the movie on DVD to see this. They edit it out for broadcast.  )

BTW, here, I'll take the one in the middle.  ;)

Okay, going completely off topic, but since this is the thread about anything I thought I'd put it here.

Nick and I went to see Babel tonight.  Awesome!  If you like the storytelling style of BBM (and obviously you do) you will love this movie.  And Gustavo did the score.  My favorite of the Oscar contenders I've yet seen (and I've seen The Departed and Flags of Our Fathers), although Little Miss Sunshine is up there too.

Don't know how to work the photo stuff on Nick's computer or I'd try to find a hot nearly naked man for everyone.

Hi Kirk!  I'm following you around the Board this morning.  :)

I'd like to see Babel, especially for Cate Blanchett, who's always so good.  But I have yet to see Candy, Volver, Casino Royale and Bobby, too.  Better get on the stick.

Kelda, I saw some folks' reactions to a "Dreamgirls" screening after the premiere here, and they were all excited about it.  They loved the girl from Idol, and there are stories out about Beyonce being a bit miffed about all the attention being taken away from her.  It looks like it's going to be a big hit. :)

And Meryl it's 59F in Childress, Tx. Wow, almost the same as in NYC. They get that outdoor ice skatin rink by Rockefeller Center up and running when it's 59F? You can practically ice skate wearing shorts, though it wouldn't be practical I suppose.

Ice skatin' in New York.  During my childhood, many Fridays after school, my friends and I would go to Wollman Rink in Central Park and skate.  I didn't know at the time how exceptionally lucky that was.

I haven't been skating in years, but I have lots of sense memories of it - lacing the skates up snugly to support my ankles, the first tottery steps off the bench on the rubbery floor, the clumsy feeling clutching onto the side when I first get out on the ice, the exhilaration when I let go of the wall and begin tentative little glides on my own, the bliss of finding the music's rhythm and taking long glides, the hilarity and joy of twirling and skating backwards, the gasping terror and fun of holding hands with a faster skater and praying not to careen out of control.

The molten heat of the microwaved mini-pizzas (the first microwave oven I ever experienced - in the late 1960s!)  Not feeling my toes anymore.  And the boiling agony of putting my frosted feet in the bathtub once I got home.

I sure used to love to move like that - think I'll go take a walk.

Ogh Clarissa. Yes... the one in central park is in a gorgeous location - I walked past in when there in feb 2005 and stood for a while watching the people skate along. Much nicer than the rockefeller one!

Today I'm thinking about...

the evil in some people.

There has been a recent spate of killings in the UK - which is very much at the forefront of people's minds in the UK at the moment. It's scary and appauling.

In the last 2 weeks, 5 prostitutes have been found dead in and around the town of Ipswich. Now Ipswich is not a big place and the Suffolk Police is one of the smallest consabulorys in the country.

This is on the scale of the Werst Murders and Myra Hindley & ian Brady - but in a very very short space of time.

Clearly, there is a serial killer on the loose that is now taunting police.

What type of evil does somebody have inside of them to do this? and to do it 5 seperate times in the space of two weeks - a month?

(For more - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/suffolk/6175669.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/suffolk/6175669.stm))

One of the girls who has been killed - talked to ITV News on Tuesdya - saying she had to go out - she couldn't afford not to and had no choice but that she was scared but was keeping her guard up. She's now dead.

It really makes you think. And worry.

Just the thoughts in my head today - but the lounge is the place to do it yes?

No rules for topics in the Lounge Darlin.

That is pretty terrible about the killer on the loose.     We had this guy kill some people in California before, he was caught, tried and let go.  Now he has a book and TV show ready.    <cough cough> OJ Simpson <cough cough>

So we can sympathize with ya there.

Yeah I know, it's not the same.   But still frustrating nonetheless.

Is that TV show still going ahead? About how he would have killed them if he had?

very bad taste if you ask me - even if he is *cough* innocent.

Nah!    I did notice that most of the threads were pretty quiet yesterday.    I think OJ lost the TV show, but still is doing the book.       Yes, very bad taste indeed.

Kinda like Mel Gibson.    He keeps making an ass out of himself on TV with his drunken tirades.    I'm really surprized anyone is going to see Apocolypto after that last time he was arrested.

Now, now.  Just because someone's a rude, sloppy drunk doesn't mean they can't make a good movie.

Happy New Year Tremblayians,

Happy Birthday RouxB!

I love randomness.....

A few of you remember my old avatar pic of the sexy, shirtless cowboy right?  Well, I am glad to announce that he can be seen at least 60 times a day on TV in a SUZUKI commercial campaign he landed.  He drives up in a black SUV in a dry lakebed, encircled by a sleek figure on a motorcycle dressed in black.  A woman gets off the bike and tosses him the keys saying "Can you handle it?" - He responds, "Can you?" - at which point I always scream at the TV - "That's right baby...you tell her!"  I love it when deserving friends have shot of good fortune.

I went over to IMDB Brokeback today, the first time in about 6 months.  It was fun reading comments from those who had seen the movie for the first time on HBO.   Not infested with trolls like it was around Oscar time.

Flash, where the heck you been? Friend, I've missed you--and your li'l ol' avatar.  ;D

Oh, I've been drooling over watching those Suzuki commercials--and the previous one, where the vehicle is surrounded by the pack of female bikers, and the leader tosses him his cell phone, tells him he left it at the diner, and there's a new number in it. Tell you what, I first saw that first commercial over breakfast one morning. Nearly choked on my coffee, barely avoided spitting it all over the kitchen. "Jesus H.! It's HIM!"

Hey Jeff

I've been back and forth between California & Texas this year.  Next week I'll be back and forth between California & New York for at least the first half of 2007.

I miss my cowboy avatar too, but I'm using one of a guy I dated in Munich for a while.  My photographer friend Duane did some pretty popular images of him a few years ago, and this one (the cover of The Advocate) caught me totally off guard.  That's the problem with dating - guys always become famous in one way or another (lol)...so I have to take special care and always keep the relationship on a good note because I will eventually be broadsided with their poster in a Target or a Billboard on the side of a building on Sunset Blvd. (okay, that's an exaggeration - the billboard was only half of the building).  Anyway, that's Henning in the new avatar.  Believe it or not, he's an M.D. (Pediatrician) and popular Model in Deutschland.

Last time I saw Shirtless Cowboy :-X ;), he told me he had lined up a part in a music video for a country artist, and had booked several TV Shows, one of which was with Ricki Lake in a special version of "The Price Is Right".  He's got some incredible rep right now, and I'm pretty sure in a year or two he's going to be quite famous.

Friend Flash, one of these days you'll have to retire to write your memoirs--and I'll pay YOU to proofread 'em for you.  ;D

Good for Shirtless Cowboy! I look forward to seeing him in Prime Time some day.  :D

Welcome back!

Oooo, Oooo (http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/images/smilies/waving.gif) Oooooo!  I've seen those Suzuki commercials!  Shirtless Cowboy is the drop dead gorgeous, divinely delicious Mr. J.R.J. all american boy, who is rumored to be as nice as he is gorgeous, much like another dark haired-blue eyed fella we all drool over from time to time. Mr J.B.G.  LOL....  :D  Very glad to hear that he is getting some good work, he is definitely someone who deserves some serious success.  ;)  Jakey too of course.  They are both men who just keep getting better looking with age.

Hehehe,

Right on Dot....I got Mr. Shirtless in a music video for a famous 7 foot tall drag queen.  He really enjoyed it, especially since he used to work as boycandy in said drag queen's show back in the  Atlanta days.  Then, my producing partner at present, cast him in a very funny part  for a movie that made the filmfest route last year.  Lastly, he is very kind-hearted, and even politically aware.  I was surprised once when he sent me an email reminding me to support a candidate who backed gay marriage.  Talk about playing to your fanbase!

BTW...In a stroke of Pre-Brokeback prescience, I totally went out and bought that cowboy hat for the shoot.

Flash, you know Duane?  I've done a bunch of shoots for him.  Or rather I've done two for him and he's done several for me when I needed photos for one thing or another.  He recently did the photos for an HIV awareness campaign, said photos featuring both my boyfriend and his (no, not the same guy) and those posters are all over the Castro right now.

I saw the Advocate cover at his studio.  Henning's a very good looking man.  And I saw the drag queen's video with hunky guy while passing by Medium Rare Records.  They had it playing in the window.  Is there a reason you're not mentioning the drag queen by name?

LOL...I was trying to keep a little bit anonymous.  I just didn't want to mention RuPaul for privacy sake.  Not everyone needs to know how much of a BBM fanboy I am.  I'm already taunted enough by my producing partner, and he thinks I've only seen BBM three times or so.

Duane I've known for a long time, since the early 80s.  To tell you the truth, I had been out of touch with him since he'd moved to San Francisco and become a successful photographer.  Imagine my surprise when I found out he'd photographed Herr<--Remler.  Then one day he showed up on the set of one of my productions to do publicity photos of Ru.  Actually, last month in Los Angeles Duane called me up and invited me to an incredible Award ceremony where he was being honored along with Dionne Warwick and a few others for his contribution to Aids awareness.  I didn't realize until then, the scope of his contribution, and how he himself had struggled.  All in all it was a great night, and I had a great time talking to his friend Eduardo Xol.  Picture that one shirtless wearing a cowboy hat :-))))). Kirkmusic, do you know him too?  He said he also worked a lot with Duane throughout the years , before he was soap star and singer in Mexico, and of course before his Extreme Home Makeover gig.

I didn't realize the "LGFG" video was Youtube popular.  I cut a version of it just for myself...starring Shirtless Cowboy and nobody else.  I actually did an alternate version which featured much more cowboy footage, but it didn't get past the artist, of course.

Nope, don't know Eduardo other than seeing his single at the Castro Tower Records a LOT upon its initial release.  Glad to know that that wasn't the peak of his career.

That didn't come out right.  I actually never heard the song, I just meant that it's nice when you hear an entertainer's name years after you last heard it and they've been doing well the whole time.   :)
