Television Commercials

I sure have!

I swear they are running 5 minutes worth of commercials every 10 minutes.

It's hardly even worth watching TV anymore.

Thank God for my DVD player.  :)

geez, I haven't noticed.

I think because I don't really watch tv, it's always on as "background noise" as I surf.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

I do that too. I work from home with one of my jobs and quite often I will have the TV turned on. I'm not really listening to it, but I have it turned on all the same. But I DO notice all those awful commercials.

They bug the SHEEIT out of me!

Oh yes I noticed and they are recorded louder than the regular programing too.  My Dad is a little hard of hearing and he needs the TV a little louder than most and I noticed how muc LOUDER the commercials were when we were visiting with him.

I love all the little cartoons you put in your posts Dottie! They're so cute!  :D

My Father is hard of hearing too, and sometimes his TV will turn up so loud it almost sounds like an explosion. But I don't dare touch the volume though when I'm visiting him. He gets mad when I do that!

From an Australian perspective, there has been an increase in ads on television here lately.

I very rarely watch commercial television. I watch the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corp), which is ad-free and SBS, which shows all the foreign programs, such as continental movies and the like. SBS has always been ad-free in the past, until just recently. They are now showing ads on SBS.

I restrict myself to only watching television for a couple of hours at night (never during the day) and never as background noise. I'm not fond of noise.

On the rare occasions when I watch commercial television (Law & Order SVU, for instance), I use the mute button on the remote control, so I can't hear the ads.

From a British perspective, I've noticed a huge increase in adverts since we've had satellite TV.  Normal network television hasn't changed much, but the Disney Channel and Cartoon Network and the like drive me absolutely mental .... the opening credits come up and then it immediately breaks for a commercial ... what's that all about???

Susie

Watch some commercials, FINALLY get to the start of the show (opening credits) and then watch some more commercials!

Yep! It's like that over here too Susie!

I get a kick out of watching the "Mac versus PC" commercials..lol.

But seriously, there seem to be more these days..
Like Susie mentioned, it sucks when a show starts and they cut to commercial right away.  wth is that about? lol.
