Well, I just saw Shelter and loved it! True, it's no Brokeback Mountain, but it is a realistic, not over-glammed story of a young artist/skateboarder/surfer's coming out while trying to balance your basic dysfunctional family, work, and school obligations, along with some class struggle overtones. I'm not sure if it fits in the list of 50 of the greatest GLBT movies, but what's wrong with your basic love story sometime that has a happy ending? Even Ang Lee did it with A Wedding Banquet.

Yeah the thing I liked most about the film was the happy ending.   I think I'll recommend it to Artiste to view.

You just made me think--we better try not to give spoilers here!! But here's another anecdote from the movie Shelter that I liked. The young man's best friend, a straight guy, found out that he and his brother were having a relationship. And, he was fine with it! And wanted them to still be friends. But all of a sudden he was full of questions. One that cracked up the whole theater was "I hear they give better head." Hey, that's something I've wondered myself! I supposed I should go over to Safe Haven to ask that one! Another question: When you came out, did your friends have so many questions that you got tired of answering them all??

I know this is late, but I am sad to see that neither Lost and Delirious, or Imagine Me and You made the top 50. Those are some beautiful films.
