Eigentlich hätte Matt Damon die Hauptrolle im geplanten Film über Rad-Profi Lance Armstrong spielen sollen. Produzent Frank Marshall hat sich aber spontan umentschieden.
Der Radsport wird derzeit als ganz großes Thema in Hollywood gehandelt. „Indiana Jones“-Produzent Frank Marshall plant deshalb eifrig an der Filmbiografie über den sechsfachen „Tour de France“-Sieger Armstrong.

Marshall hatte bereits Schauspieler Matt Damon als Leinwand-Lance verpflichtet. Aufgrund ihrer Zusammenarbeit bei den „Bourne Identity“-Filme sind die beiden bereits ein eingespieltes Team. Deshalb überrascht die plötzliche Entscheidung, dass statt Damon nun "Brokeback Mountain"-Star Jake Gyllenhaal die Hauptrolle spielen soll.
