These are reminding me of how much I love Dustin Hoffman (which is good) and how sweet he was at the Academy Awards (which is sad...)

Yeah...  Was I imagining things, or did he really say, after saying that actors shouldn't be in competition or something like that, "Heath Ledger, I bow to you."?  I could have sworn he said that.  Or something very much like it.

I'll never know, because after it was all over, I erased that abomination off my TiVo so fast, my TV nearly went back in time.

I still feel as resolved as ever never to watch that horror show again.  If I hear afterwards in years to come that Jake or Heath or a movie Ang has made has won, I'll be glad for them.  But it won't mean a thing to me.  They already were the best actors and made the best picture - no consolation prize will ever be needed to tell me that.
