Hi Dave Cullen Forum members,

I hear that you all are experiencing some kind of technical difficulties. Please feel free to use this thread to communicate with each other. Also, feel free to start your own threads, and to use our chat service. (You'll need to register to post messages or use chat, but it's free, quick, and easy.)

Let us know further how we can be of service. I know from experience how awful it is when one's home forum is unavailable.

Please help spread the word that you are welcome here during (and after) your difficulties.

Hello to all of the BetterMost forum members!

I just want to take a moment to thank you all for providing this thread to DCF members to use while our forum is down.

It's time for a server update, and we are offline, but it shouldn't be long!

y'all won't probably see us here, but not because we don't want to be here. One of our members (BayCityJohn) threw the Bay City event in Feburary of this year. To keep things organized, he started his own forum for everyone to go to, to discuss the Bay City event.

He kept it up and active, so we are using that forum as a "temp refuge" for now!

However, I did go over to this temp refuge, and posted up that you great folks gave us this thread to use.

And here is a link to our "temp refuge". Please feel free to join us there, if you wish!

Bumping up this thread for an emergency message.

DCF has been down most of the day to MOST of our members. When they try to access it, all they get is a white page.

However, some members were able to access the site.

Our tech team is working on the issue, and we hope it will be resolved soon!

for any DCF members here, be patient, and as soon as it's fixed, you'll know!

The Dave Cullen forum has been very kind to us in the past when we were experiencing technical problems over here.

Nellie, I'm not sure that John's site is actually working.

This thread was started a year ago, when DCF was moved to a new server. Rather than starting a new thread, I remembered this one was here, and searched for it, and bumped it up.

It's possible that John's site is no longer around.

This makes me wonder.....

If a forum crashes in the forest, and no one is online, does it make a sound?

Yes, I also hope your technical problems are resolved soon. In the meanwhile, pull up a ~~chair~~log, rest your boot in the fire, and make yourself comfy. It's a sad day for Brokies, but for me, it seems to hurt a little less knowing there are others out there dealing with the same sorts of feelings.

Yes, I'm glad to be here, but a lot of our members there are not, and I know they wanted to be with each other today, to support each other regarding the anniversary of the loss of Heath.

If it's not up and running tomorrow, it will be just as bad, that's the anniversary of when we lost our friend Jackie (Painted Shoes).

Of all the times for the forum to crash.......... $:-\$

I was just thinking the same thing. Of course it's always upsetting when a forum has technical difficulties, but today of all days (and tomorrow too, as you mention) it seems particularly rough... since many folks are looking for Brokie support and togetherness on this anniversary. Again, I hope the technical problems are resolved soon. I certainly hope the problems don't persist until tomorrow.

Yes, I remember when that happened last year. It was really terrible. I didn't know Jackie, but a lot of people did and I remember many brokies were very upset about it.

If the forum isn't running tomorrow Chuck, round everyone up and bring them over here. They are welcome to read and post in any threads they wish - start new ones too if they'd like.

After all, we may belong to different forums, but we are all brokies and a part of the same family!

Hello members!!!! The Admin/Mod/Tech team is coming to you with news for the new year.

When this forum was originally founded, it was under the URL we all know, www.DaveCullen.com, however, it was often referred to as the "Ultimate Brokeback Forum". Dave's website had a link to the forum, and the two entities were joined as one.

For a host of technical reasons beyond Dave’s technical ability, he needs to turn his website over to a service that can handle much of the work—and it can’t support the massive forum database. Dave really wants the forum to proceed, so the solution is simple: just split Dave’s personal pages and the forum to two separate web addresses. Everything else remains the same.

To continue to follow Dave Cullen, you can use the existing address, www.DaveCullen.com .

To access the Ultimate Brokeback Forum, you will need to bookmark this new address: https://www.UltimateBrokebackForum.com/forum.

We expect this change to take place within a week's time, and there should be no major disruption to the forum. While the UBF will no longer be linked to DCF, Dave Cullen will retain his ownership of both sites.

Please continue to watch the threads/newsbox for further updates! We will attempt to give you all 24 hours notice before the change takes place. However, you should make note of the new address now. I just tried manually typing in the url that Linda posted, and I got a failure message.

I tried twice.

My bookmark for old url took me to Dave Cullen's forum. I didn't hang around for a redirect.
