You know.  Ang is pretty darm smart.    Just look at Ennis's hats.    In the beginning of the film Ennis has a new crisp Cowboy hat on.    As the movie goes on, his hats become dirtier and more droopy.

I think this is not just to indicate his financial status, but his emotional status.   Not that he is dirty and droopy, but emotionally worn out and beat.

This is one of the few smiles in the movie.

I saw Candy yesterday. Heath is very good, as is his co-star Abby Cornish, but the movie itself is very depressing. Is there anyway to make a movie about heroin addiction cheery? I don't think so. I am glad I saw it, but once is enough for this film.

Leslie I'm seeing it next Friday. I trie to prepare myself for the subject matter by reading the book but I don't know if that will be enough. I am excited to see Heath in another dramatic role though.

The book has more lighter moments than the film, so I guess you will have to brace yourself for it; but it's so worth it, not just for Heath's performance but also for excellent performances from all actors/actresses.

And he is very good in this dramatic role.

In this movie, he seems very much like himself. First, he has his Australian accent, so he sounds like the man we have heard in all those dozens of interviews. Second, he has lots of Heath mannerisms. There was even a scene where he put his hand on his hip, arm akimbo in that famous "teapot" pose.  Last, his facial expressions were all very familiar.
