Ebay & Car Boot Sales - How to make some money doing this..

(1/2) > >>

Kelda:
In another thread on 'How We Live' a few people have said that they make a little bit of regular cash by sellihg things on ebay.

I'd love to know more.

I have done car boot sales - maybe ones a year and have sold bits and pieces on ebay (my junk is someone else's gold and all that - and last time I went we made about £60 after picth costs) but any tips on how to take this to the next level!?!

Do you buy things up to sell specifically on ebay? How to you get the best sales? What things sell well or don't sell at all?

Give us your tips on how we can all make some extra cash to play with - perhaps it could fund some brokie travelling trips if we each made enough!!!

I thought a car boot was a trunk, you know...the part of the car you stow the groceries in??

I wouldn't think there would be that much of  a market....

yeah but you sell stuff from your car trunk, lots of cars set up in one area and people come and check out which each car has to offer... - is that not done in the USA?

We have car boot sales here in Australia too, Kelda. People pile up all their old junk in the boot (trunk) of their car and drive to a designated place (usually a local playing field or school yard), pay a modest participation fee to the organisers on entry, park their car in the designated area, open their boot (trunk) and offer the contents for sale. People wander about, gazing in each car boot (trunk) and make offers for the contents. Is that the way it works in Scotland, too?
