A "Barry Bonds" Oscar?
« on: September 27, 2007, 04:18:23 pm »
The ball that Barry Bonds hit for his 756th home run was purchased by fashion designer Marc Ecko in an on-line auction. (Bonds as many know has been rumored to have used steroids during his career.)

Ecko put the ball's fate up to the fans in an internet poll:

- send it to the Baseball Hall of Fame unblemished.

- launch it into space.

- affix an asterisk to the ball (denoting that Bonds amazing record was tainted).

Let's pretend  the 2005 Oscar for best picture that had somehow become available and up for a similar vote...

They should launch it into space and let an extraterrestrial play with it.

Barry Bonds is a disappointment. He bores me. And so does that stupid ball.

Good question for a poll Bruce! It's nice to see you here!  :D  I'll sticky post this poll for a couple of days.

Barry Bonds is a disgrace.  He deserves no special recognition, nor should one of his balls.

I have never heard of Barry Bond (his name is Barry, Barry Bond ), therefore have no opinion about the ball matter.

Let's pretend  the 2005 Oscar for best picture that had somehow become available and up for a similar vote...

But I know what to do with an 2005 Oscar:

Neither of the above choices. Give it to Ang Lee with an engraving saying this prize has been decided to be given to him by the people who really matter: the moviegoing folks. Not some *#$ยง+## (read insignificant) old men with too much money and too less candor.
