Very happy tonight!



I love watching figure skating, and the season starts today (10/20) in Russia with the Cup of Russia, it's the first stop in the Grand Prix of figure skating.

Usually, I don't get to see these events, as they are not televised.  The popularity of figure skating has dropped over the decades since the Nancy/Tonya scandal. 

However, I recently discovered my cable carrier has The Olympic Channel.   It shows repeats of Olympic sporting events, and current events as well, so I was able to record today's opening events and watch them after work!

Did you hear they're making a movie about that?

Margot Robbie plays Tonya. She's Australian. If there's any immigrants Trump should consider kicking out, it's those Australians (and Brits!) taking all the good American-person movie roles. 

Not counting Health, of course. 

And actually I like most or maybe all of them.

Very happy for me!      I can finally see the Olympic style sports I like on a more regular basis.

Yeah,  I heard about the movie, I'm not sure I'd see it.

According to an article I saw online, Tonya is now getting herself back into shape and wants to skate again.

Many years ago, they did a face-to-face show between  Nancy and Tonya, and both Tonya and Nancy said they wanted this to go away, but Nancy said it never would, because it was an event tied to an  Olympics, so each Winter Olympics there was the possibility it would be mentioned again.

I'm going to have a busy weekend!

I have  to get grocery shopping done, have two Halloween parties on Saturday, and then laundry on Sunday, and have to make a meal for a pot luck luncheon on Tuesday.

What are you making? It just occurred to me this morning that my work is having a pot-luck lunch on Tuesday, and I'll either have to come up with something or stay home that day.

Here's something I just made yesterday evening for the first time, shrimp and grits. It was fast and easy. Frozen shrimp is finally becoming affordable again. I paired it with a salad of arugula and cherry tomatoes from my garden and baby corn. The chives and lemon juice were also from my garden.
