I think my iPhone autocorrect tends to err on the side of wholesomeness. So if I write "shut" it doesn't automatically change it to "shit," even if I actually meant to write "shit."

I hate autocorrect.  >:(

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

How is everyone doing?  I hope you're all well!

My building had a fire inspection last week, on Thursday, so I had to make sure the apartment was clean.  Bonus is that I didn't need to spend time cleaning this weekend, it was already done.

;D

Spent a quiet weekend at home, just relaxing, the only chore was to get the grocery shopping done.

Will spend time with mom and dad today for lunch, and to finally celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day, and mom's birthday.  With her being in the hospital and rehab, we never got around to doing that.  Mom and dad like to go out to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast occasionally, so I got them gift cards for Mother's and Father's day.

Mom likes to play card games, so I got her new games to replace her old ones that are all bent and frayed,  new Uno, Phase 10, and SkipBo.  I also got her one of those card shufflers, so she and dad don't have to try and shuffle these decks of cards, and batteries to power it.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

Shuffling cards has become more difficult for me too. I think I'll ask for a card shuffler for Christmas. I usually have my grandchildren do it.

Speaking of that, my oldest grandson is going with me to the Sherlock Holmes meeting today, and he is going to give the quiz about the story "The Mazarin Stone" !!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

What's going on, everyone?

I had a quiet Labor day weekend last weekend, and enjoyed the extra day off.   As I said somewhere (I can't remember what site), you know you're getting older when a holiday weekend approaches, and instead of thinking "another day I can stay up late", you think "another day I can sleep in!"

I posted this on Facebook last week, but I'll share it here too.

So, when driving last week, I saw a older guy (in his late 70s, perhaps) driving in his Thunderbird, top and windows down, and his radio blasting.  He was playing "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" by Tony Bennett.
1st thought:   He's living his best life!
2nd thought:  I chuckled at him driving around blasting that music.
3rd thought:  I realized that's how teen-agers see me when I drive around blasting my 80s music!

Finally, this weekend was a busy one.  We have a work event tomorrow, a volunteer event, and since there would be a nice amount of people in the office, I offered to bake cookies for everyone.

Since we're still in summer, I planned an assortment of "good-bye to summer" flavors, so I made lemon crinkle cookies, lime crinkle cookies, and blueberry white chocolate cookies.  I ended up with 4 dozen of each cookie.

I started the whole dough making process at noon on Saturday, and then had to chill the doughs, and then the baking and cooling times, by the time I was finished, it was about 10pm Saturday night.

Thankfully, I cleaned as I went along, so there wasn't much to do after everything was done.

That's a nice way to look at it! I, on the other hand, get highly annoyed when someone blasts music in their car with windows open, especially if they leave it on when they stop. My apartment is just one floor above a smallish parking lot, and my desk is next to the big window.

That said, one of the worst offenders was playing 1950s pop, so music blasters can be any age!

Wow! Those sound delicious. If I were to promise to make cookies for a work function, I'd probably make one batch.

In Philly I've seen it done by people on motorized bicycles. I couldn't see where the music was actually coming from. I didn't think boom boxes were still a thing.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

What's going on, everyone?

Today was a national holiday, so I had a three day weekend.

;D

Saturday was a quiet day.  I normally get cleaning done around the apartment, but on Friday we had a heating inspection, so I had to make the apartment presentable for them, so the place was nice and clean for the weekend.

;D

Sunday I saw my family for a late lunch, and then we went to a local farm for a Halloween attraction that mom wanted to see.  it started at 6:30, we got there at about 5:45, and shopped in their store.  they had a variety of fresh produce, other fresh meals, and freshly made pies.  Pumpkin, blueberry, apple, apple crumb, and a few others.  Mom and dad ended up buying a pumpkin pie to take home.

They also had warm donuts, but I passed on them.  I would've got some if they weren't warm, just to take home and have for breakfast for the week, but they didn't have any room temp donuts.  I didn't want warm ones, and have condensation build up in the container, and then end up with 6 soggy donuts by the time I got home.

This is a video someone recorded of the attraction.  It's 17 minutes long, but if you just watch the first few minutes, you'll get the general idea.

The music was not added to the video.  The farm has a local station on the radio that synchs up to their attraction, and plays "spooky" music.

Today was a day off.  I did have an appointment with an optometrist.  My eyes have felt a little tired and off lately, and I haven't had an eye test since I was a teen.  Given I'm 55 now, I was loooooong overdue.

Much to my surprise, after all the tests were run, she said my eyes are in very good shape.  The blood vessels look good, the nerves look good, normal eye pressure, no evidence of cataracts or glaucoma.  My vision is not bad either, she did recommend getting glasses that were over the counters +1 for reading and +1.25 for the computer.

She did say my eyes seem dry, so she gave me some paperwork on artificial tears, and some heated masks to wear for 20 minutes a day, three times a week.  Apparently your eyes produce some oil, and when your eyes dry, less oil is being produced.  The heating will assist with this.

Ok, I saw two TikTok videos, the second one made me laugh, but I have to explain.

There is a TikTok creator named Jools Lebron, and she does hair and make-up videos.

In August she went viral when her videos offering advice to women to be "very demur, very mindful" became very popular.  Very popular to the point of celebrities lip-synching or quoting the phrase in their own videos.

Here is one of Lebron's original TikToks, under one minute long.

Here is a celebrity (J-Lo) doing her own.

The TikTok that made me laugh was this one.....the creator used footage from TV, and the voice-over of Jools LeBron.
