Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

It started snowing here Sunday afternoon, and went though the day.  It was never a big snow, so we ended up with about two inches on the ground.

Sun is out today, but it's very cold, so the snow is not melting.

Will you play my record? One-track mind!

The winter sun is no match for the icy cold that descends upon us. It's a good day to spend in reflection. The words of MLK that you have chosen are very apt, friend. Stay warm and cozy!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

So, is everyone ready for the big game?

I'm going to a super bowl party today, I couldn't care less who wins.      I'm only going to hang out with friends and have a good time.  I took tomorrow off work, so I can stay until the end and then sleep in tomorrow.

I'm going to make some munchies to bring to the party, a variation on my stromboli.  Lately when I've made stromboli they didn't seem to cook right.  Perhaps I overstuffed them?   Not sure, but what I'm doing today is making pepperoni and cheese stuffed crescent rolls.  since they're single serve, quicker to cook, and easier to transport.

Work has been going well, I just had my annual review, and it went very well.  I'll be getting the maximum raise, the maximum bonus, and the title of Vice-President.

:)

We had snow blow through here last night, we have about 2 - 3 inches of the white stuff on the ground, it looks pretty out!  Apparently we'll get another inch on Tuesday, we'll see.

Family is doing well, so far we've all be able to avoid Covid and flu this season,  mom, dad and my brother all managed to just catch a cold that was gone in a few days.

The place has decorated for Valentine's Day for a few weeks now, pics were posted here, if you haven't seen them.

Yay, friend, for your work progress! That's excellent! Also for your family's continued health!

Instead of the Superbowl, I'm planning to watch Masterpiece Theater tonight on PBS. "All Creatures Great and Small" will be on, the 5th season. I haven't been able to get into previous seasons but I will still give it the old college try. (I thought the book was better.) I know I'm ridiculously out of step with the world, but, hey, I'm happy! I'm making a version of Mexican layered bean dip, does that redeem me at all? The reason is because I have lots of scallions, green chilies, and olives in the house that I have to use up to make room for other foods.

I have been really busy with activism and sometimes I feel like the little boy who put his thumb in the dike. On the family front, I've been helping my grandson get ready for his college placement exams. I've created a daily vocabulary test for him using quotes from New Yorker articles. As well as Shakespeare and Sherlock Holmes works.

So they're finally recognizing you as president of vice?

 ;D  :-*

No, seriously, that's great news! Glad to know you're getting a raise and bonus too!

Congratulations!

That's great news, Chuck! Congrats on the raise and bonus, I'm sure they're well deserved!

Does the title Vice-president mean that you are right beneath the boss of your workplace?

Lee, I love "All Creatures Great and Small"!

When it comes to English series, I think it's right up there with "Call the midwife". Have you seen it? I can highly recommend it if you like English series.

I'll try watching "Call the Midwife" again after my children are done having children. Until then, it's too stressful!!

Whoa, congratulations, VP Chuck! That's exciting. And your VD decorations -- very dramatic!

I couldn't get into All Creatures, book or TV show. But I have long considered watching Call the Midwife.
