Fried Pickles and the Condiment Aisle
« on: October 05, 2007, 11:46:59 pm »

Tell you what. This is the more radical cousin to the French fry condiment poll already in circulation here.

The very first time (and only time so far) that I visited Wyoming, I had the chance to try fried pickles for the first time.  They came serves with several types of condiments for dipping.  One of those condiments was peanut butter!  I bravely tried the peanut butter once... and I can see that it might be an acquired taste.  It actually wasn't completely disgusting.  The pickles themselves were delicious!
 :P :)

So, I looked up a bunch of traditional dipping sauces for fried pickles and put them together here.  I'll be curious to see the responses.

My mother in law makes fried pickles!  I thought she was mad as a hatter the first time but you're right they are delicious.  I like em plain too Jess but she serves Bob's Blue Cheese dressing with her's that's tasty too.

Plain.  But even better than those Wyoming fried pickles was the company at the table.  A highlight of my life.  :-*

It's funny - I remember the pickles, but I have no memory of the condiments - only the company!  You'd think the peanut butter would have jiggled the synapse, but no!  I think the garlic mayo sounds good, though - I haven't had lunch yet!
