Val Kilmer, who played Batman/Bruce Wayne in "Batman Forever" (1995), played Bob Henry in "Joe the King."

From IMDb:  A destitute 14-year-old (Noah Fleiss) struggles to keep his life together despite harsh abuse at his mother's (Karen Young) hands, harsher abuse at his father's (Val Kilmer), and a growing separation from his slightly older brother (Max Ligosh). Petty thefts for food grow into more major takes until he steals a cash box from the diner where he works. Although Joe uses the money to pay off some of his father's debts and to replace his mother's records that his father smashed in a fit of temper, Joe gets no thanks....

« Reply #4488 on: July 22, 2008, 03:52:38 pm »

Christian Bale, who portrays Batman/Bruce Wayne in BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT plays Dieter Dengler in this fact-based film.

Synopsis
In 1965, an American pilot on a top-secret bombing mission was shot down over Laos and taken to a hellish prison camp deep in the impenetrable jungle of Vietnam. What followed was one of the most remarkable and harrowing experiences of the entire Vietnam War. Inspired by the true story of Dieter Dengler (Christian Bale) and written and directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog, RESCUE DAWN is an uncanny tale of camaraderie and betrayal, courage in the face of despair, and triumph over tragedy. It stands as a true testament to the impossible boundaries of the human condition and the invincibility of the American spirit.

Christian Bale, who starred as Batman/Bruce Wayne in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," played Stevie in "The Secret Agent."

From IMDb:  London of the late 19th century is a haven for political exiles of all sorts -- refugees, partisans, anarchists. Verloc has made his living spying for the Russian goverment, an agent provacateur of sorts, while simultaneously providing information to the London police, specifically Chief Inspector Heat. When the new Russian ambassador demands he prove his worth or lose his salary, Verloc sets off a tragic chain of events that involves his pretty young wife Winnie, her retarded brother Stevie, and a figure called the Professor, whose fascination with explosives and destruction makes him the person to call on when Verloc needs a bomb.
