An Italian movie.

A digger breaks his back night and day to let his son study and become a lawyer. When the young man becomes one, he soon forgets his humble parents, goes to New York and associates with rich people. Written by Salvatore Santangelo (IMDb)

“It can be a little distressing to have to overintellectualize yourself” - Heath Ledger

I only saw "Alien" because "The Main Event" with Barbra and Ryan O'Neal was sold out.  "Alien" was truly disgusting, and I was white-knuckling my way through the whole thing.  YUK.

This was a tough choice, because of all the other "A" films this year:

All that Jazz
The Amityville Horror
Apocalypse Now

A breezy yet thought-provoking adaptation of the classic rock musical, which makes great use of New York location shooting. Directed by Milos Forman, this remains an underrated example of his skill and vision as a filmmaker.
