Hi all,

This is a great new story by Christie (poppyhoney-67).

Summary: Ennis and Jack are working as counselors on a children's camp for the summer. Their meeting on the first evening on the camp leads to a friendship neither had expected, nor looked for.

Chapter 1. http://poppyhoney-67.livejournal.com/1478.html
Chapter 2. http://poppyhoney-67.livejournal.com/1599.html
Chapter 3. http://poppyhoney-67.livejournal.com/1981.html

And chapter 4 that was just posted:

http://poppyhoney-67.livejournal.com/

This is already a great read!

This is a great story. For some reason I am drawn to the teen E&J and this one is developing very nicely. The buildup of their attraction to each has been very well done-so sweet and naive 9 (and, of course, clueless) are those boys.

I agree and I love her very different approach to it, it's refreshing...

Hi everyone.   :)

My name is Christie, also known as poppyhoney.....and the writer of this fic that snuit has very kindly created a thread for here.   I'm very flattered and a little embarrassed.  *blushes*   There are so many wonderful fics out there and I feel extremely honoured to have a thread in amongst those for those stories too.

I'm glad you are all enjoying it.  I love young Ennis and Jack, and I have worked on a summer camp in Maine so I am using those two elements to drive this story along.  I am enjoying writing it but wish I could update much faster than I am doing so right now, but constraints on my time due to RL issues don't allow me too.  Plus, I havent worked out a way to create another 24 hours in my day!   ;)

I am writing Chapter 5 at the moment and hope to post it by the end of the week - fingers crossed.    Things are starting to hot up.   ;)

Thanks Mel and Amanda for your welcome.  I really appreciate it. As Mel already knows, I tend to hang out at ennisjack mostly, but I couldn't resist coming over here once I heard that there was a thread for my story, I was really thrilled.   :)

I hope to be back to let you know when the chapter is posted.

I am one of your readers in love with "Middle of nowhere" as I have mentioned before, your adventure in a campground with a young Ennis and Jack counseling children, falling in love, what more could a body want, except a happy ending.

Hi Christie,

I just caught up with your story and I wanted to add my thanks - it's wonderfully refreshing and well-written and you've got some really interesting OCs (I like Meli in particular!).  I always wanted to go to summer camp and never had the chance so I find the setting especially appealing.

Thanks,
Marie

Christie-add my welcome-great to see you here. I'm digging your story-it falls right into my love of young E&J and I really like the tenderness that you put into their characters.
Hang out, bring your friends.

Hi again!

Thanks for your lovely comments, and I'm so glad that you are enjoying the story and that the setting and characterisations are to your liking!! I have a thing for a young Ennis and Jack so its great to be able to write about them.  Its so nice to hear that you like what's happening.  ;)

I hope to keep to my schedule of posting a chapter every 2 weeks - I really wish I could post more regularly but my RL won't allow it!!!

Thank again, its great to know that you are liking what I'm doing.   :)

Thanks, Amanda :)

SPOILERS

This story is very well-written and well thought out. The campers have arrived....I like that that J&E have established a good understanding of each other already.  I'm betting they're going to need that foundation in the weeks ahead.  Justin and Ryan sound like they are going to be really interesting characters, with Ryan being Cindy's sister, and Justin with his own family issues that Ennis can relate to.  Looks like J&E are going to discover many things about themselves during this summer.

I thought I'd give a bump to this story - Chapter 18 was recently posted:

SPOILERS

It looks like we're over the angst of the last few chapters - a good thing!  But.... usually when the angst is over in a story, it's not long before the story is over, too.  I hope this one goes on for a bit, though;  it's very nicely written and her young J&E camp counselors are both so endearing.   :)

Hi Marie! :)

Yep, I read the new chapter last night. 8)

I thought it was really lovely.  And, I really like how complex the situation became with Ryan and the boss at the camp.  I wonder how things will go now that Jack and Ennis have reconciled.

Chapter 19 - a three-parter:

http://poppyhoney-67.livejournal.com/8754.html

From the Author's Note:  The next chapter will spell the end of camp. The one after that will be the epilogue.

Nice to see things falling into place.   :)

The last chapter (in two parts) is up!

A really lovely story from start to finish.  But, I'm happy to see that it's not quite the end.   :)

Authors Note:  This is the last chapter. There will be an epilogue but I am doing a Christmas one-shot first. I like snow ;)
