i try to get down there as often as i can to see my gran but lately its been tough.  feel like if i leave here there won't be anything when i get back.

Well, I don't know where here is for you friend ( Literally or figuratively speaking) but I'm sure it will be.
I can speak from experience though my gran was killed in a car wreck and looking back, there are so many times I wish I could have gone back and made those visits. I don't know your situation Joe and I sure don't mean to overstep my boundries here. We just never know what tomorrow will bring so we need to make the most out of today!
