There's a pretty picture of the Space Needle in today's online Seattle Times in an article about Seattle landmarks...

You can walk there from my little apartment, and here too - the statue of Chief Seattle

You're welcome, folks!  Did you ever think you'd see someone en pointe on a guy's head?  :P
That was in-freakin-credible!

Hey Artiste!

Yes, Chief Seattle was a Native American leader in Washington state - the city of Seattle is named after him.  He is often credited as being one of the first to articulate an environmentalist philosophy, though the accuracy of speeches that are credited to him is debatable.

These pictures I posted are a prelude to asking Brokies to come visit!  It gets  lonely up here sometimes!

I remember that statue when I ate there on the way back from Alaska in 1999. Nice park setting too, I loved the vibe of the place. I actually just this second located the album from the trip but alas I took no pictures there, I must have been out of film. Remember film?

I have a vague recollection of film ;).

I think I remember about your 1999 Alaska trip.  The cruise with older folks?? Do you remember where you ate?  There's a dive bar/diner there - the Five Points Cafe - that has been 'cheating tourists and drunks since 1929'  :D. Also Taco del Mar, a Thai restaurant, a pizza parlor...

Yes I took the gereatric tour of Alaska, that was what one participant called it. I was not the youngest on the trip but the median age was probably 75.

We were told we would have dinner at the Space Needle and where all psychiced about it. Well the dinner was not at the resturant at the top, although we did visit later, after eating at a banquet hall type facility on about the third floor,

Why did you go on a gereatric tour of Alaska? Just curious. Did you have fun?
