7:33 am here and 31*F.     The sun is rising and no more rain!  YAA!

Todays errand?   A trip to the DMV.    I sold one of my old cars and want to transfer the vanity license plate to another one of my old cars.   Lets see how many people at the DMV it will take to get that done before I lose my patience and give up!    LOL

And what does your vanity license plate say, David?

It is the year of the car actually.    I sold the light blue 1980 Dodge, so I wanted to put the "1980" plate on my 1980 Chrysler wagon.

Nothing as clever as my PTOWN plates that were on my yellow Cadillac convertible.  8)
(PTOWN being short for Provincetown of course)

Wednesday morning...21 degrees today...chilly! Not sure what is happening outside as it is still DARK.

One of the major activities of my small business is to do editing. Usually this is for journal articles, grants, etc...technical writing for health care. Yesterday, I got a phone call from a man who wanted me to edit a screenplay. He told me he drives and oil delivery truck and writes screenplays for a hobby. Oookaaay...he dropped if off and I am working my way through it. I'll keep ya'll posted but I think I can safely say (after about 50 pages) this is not another BBM. LOL.

In this world of gloomy news, here's a feel good story we might all enjoy:

Sweet win in 'Super Bowl' of ad ideas

Gino Bona's cell phone vibrated Monday morning while he was sitting in a financial accounting class at Syracuse University, where he had just begun an MBA program.

He glanced at the number and saw it was from New York City.

"I ran into the hall and got the news," he said.

The news was very good for Bona and Maine's advertising community.

Bona, 33, is director of business development at Garrand Marketing Communications in Portland. He beat 12 finalists and thousands of football fans who pitched a 30-second National Football League ad that will be televised during the Super Bowl on Feb. 4.

Youi can read the whole story here:

http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/local/070110superad.html

and you can watch the pitch, here:

http://www.garrand.com/downloads/ginospitch.mov

And now Maine fans have a real reason to root the Pats all the way to the Super Bowl. Go Pats!

The sun is rising here, but it does look chilly out there.

Still no snow yet!     :D

I'm getting nervous about this Saturday.     I got some good news and bad news at work.

Good news?   I've been approved for full time status!   YAA!

Bad news?     I must bid on a new work shift this Saturday.     I saw the bid list.  There are 36 openings.     There are 7 shifts that start at 3:30 AM      18 start at 4:30 AM  and 11 start at 11:30 AM.      What has me nervous is that I am number 25 on the bid list in seniority.    So it looks like I'll end up on the 4:30 AM shift.   (Again!)   UGH!

Which means getting up at 2:00 AM.  Which means in order to get 8 hours of sleep I need to get to bed at.......yes,  6:00 pm.    That sucks.      I did the 4:00 AM shift back in September during my training.   You are home from work at 1:00 pm, but the rest of the world is at work still.   And just when your friends and family gets home, you go to bed.     You wake up on your days off at 2:00 am also.
I used to do my grocery shopping at the 24 hour Super Stop & Shop at 3:00 AM.     No lines at the registers!  LOL.   Course the Deli counter isn't open either.

<deep sigh>   The best shift there is the 10:00 am to 6:30 pm shift.  But the full timers all hold onto that shift!    The next best one is that 11:30 am to 8:00 pm shift.   Either one is good because you don't end up in rush hour traffic.    Not that I'll have ANY traffic leaving my house at 3:30 AM!

Oh well.   Beats working part time and getting a second job I guess.
