Oh I realize that we pay far less than most European countries.    But it still hurts when the prices climb faster than your salary.

Especially home heating oil.     :(

I was paying the bills last Saturday and I realize I have paid a fortune for oil and propane this winter. And it's still cold, too.

But let's think about happy things like Happy 5000 posts, David!

I have a language question: Godfriday of Good Friday?

I'm pretty sure I've learned at school that the Friday before Easter is Godfriday in English. The "teacher" of my English Conversation Circle said the same last week: Godfriday, same as in Godfather.

Today I've seen people referring to Good Friday on our board and looked it up. My online dictionary also lists Good Friday, no mention of Godfriday, not even as British English or outdated version.

Has any of you ever heard of Godfriday? Or am I completely wrong?

I have never heard GodFriday. It has always been Good Friday in my world.

Another question I had...when you talked about getting your tattoo, you mentioned your "motive"... not in relation to why you wanted to do it, but more in relation to design. That is not the word I would expect...I would think "pattern," "transfer," or "design." Can you explain?
