How does one say goodbye to a close friend? Words fail me. I never met you in person, and yet I knew you all the same. My heart feels crushed and it bleeds with anguish over this terrible news.

I am a man of few words, but my emotions run deep. I'm sorry I don't have the right words. I'm sorry I don't know how to properly tell you goodbye. Maybe I don't want to. Not yet anyway. Maybe I'm not ready.

The world lost a good friend today, and Heaven gained a beautiful soul. Every time I look up at the night sky, I will see your beautiful face painted in the stars. The angels break into joyful chorus tonight because you are among them now.

Thank you Heath. For every laugh and for every tear, I thank you. You will live in my heart forever.

So lay down your head sweet baby. Fall asleep in the arms of angels, and may they carry you safely into Paradise.

Heath's passing is on national news all TV stations in Canada and also on the French ones!! They all show Heath and talk about him about his role mainly in the Brokeback Mountain film!! Of course, on all TV stations channels in the USA!! Likely so, too in every country throughout the world!!

My wish: Be wonderful to have Bm II now... in hommage of Heath, may I hope.

May his life and star shine always in the Universe of Love desired!!

I thought I was getting my act together at last. But then I came here and read the beautiful messages and I'm a weepy mess again. But that's OK. I need to grieve right now.

This is the message I posted over at the Grieving Thread. It was written by Kahlil Gibran. The final line, "And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance," is inscribed on my dear mother's grave:

I haven't posted in quite a while but the news of Heath Leger's real death hit me in a way that Jack's death hit me in the movie.  Heath Ledger was a great person and great actor and the world will be smaller place with his departure but heaven will be a better place.

I thought when I saw Brokeback Mountain for the first time and was finally able to think rationally again that it was like a Greek tragedy but the world was better off because of the movie and its message.  Heath played a tragic and sad part in the movie and now his candle has burned out in real life long before it should have.  What a horrible loss for those of us who admired and loved Heath as an actor.

I was drawn here by the news that I heard today.  Somehow the news of Heath's death hit me like a ton of bricks not too unlike the first time I saw Brokeback Mountain.  I had to cry some to release the overwhelming sadness that just overcame me.  It hit me just like Brokeback Mountain but the difference is that Heath's death was for real and Jake is still alive and well.  There was just something incredibly sad about the whole thing especially from the article I read in Yahoo.com news. 

I have missed you guys too but the draw is still there as I couldn't think of anywhere else to be to share my feelings but on bettermost.net.  I have missed your thoughts from the heartland and your stories about Indiana.

I have come to this thread as I find myself grieving all over again. I think it is a combination of the awards season and my own life. It is so very, very hard to see Heath's picture all over the screen again, but not the man himself.

I know he was not mad keen on award ceremonies or interviews, but what wouldn't I give to see his discomfort and constantly moving hands again, as he endured yet another round of questions.

I still cannot grasp that he has gone and it has been nearly a year. I wonder sometimes, if it is my own personal circumstances which are causing a new wave of grief. If I was in a better place, would I be less upset, who knows ?

I do however know, I did not expect to be grieving for someone I never met, a full year later.

Well, it's been exactly one year ago - almost to the exact hour - that we found out our beloved Heath passed away. I still cannot figure out how somebody I've never met in person could affect me so much. Rarely have I grieved so much for a total stranger. It's very strange. But here I am crying once again like his death had just happened.

I find myself very sad and depressed today and I doubt anything can shake me from this depression. Maybe tomorrow I will be in a better mood. The sun is shining, the weather outside has finally warmed up a little, my animals surround me as their cute furry faces attempt to cheer me up (they know something is wrong) and yet I still feel sad. I think only time will make me feel better. Today is a sad day.

To be remembered with the dignity and respect for the man and the actor that he was, and will always be, is the best way to handle our sadness.

To be mindful of the loss that his family is feeling and to give them the privacy to deal with that.

To celebrate his life and appreciate the legacy that he has left for us all to enjoy and appreciate.

That is how I think Heath would want to be remembered today.

He will never be forgotten and will always be missed.

Yet again I find myself drawn to this thread.
I am by coincidence listening to George Michaels, a different corner. and crying yet again. I really am being very silly now. I do not know what has kicked it all off again. I suppose it is my own brush with death, then Farrah , Billy Mays and Michael Jackson.  Who knows, I just feel bereft all over again.
