Artiste, I can say that according to the Internet Movie Database, Peroni was born and died in New York, and that she ended her own life. She died before Brokeback Mountain was ever released, and thus never got to experience the finished film, which includes the loving dedication to her memory in the closing credits.

Well, for one, she was a lesbian.  I have wondered how BBM affected her around that.

speaking of Geraldine Peroni, I found out the night of Heath's death, when talking with my housemate Jim about the event, that his daughter is married to Dylan Tichenor, the film editor who took over for Peroni on Brokeback Mountain.
“Mr. Coyote always gets me good, boy,”  Ellery said, winking.  “Almost forgot what life was like before I got me my own personal coyote.”

Really?  That's very interesting.  Very.  He has worked with my three favorite directors - John Sayles, Ang, and Robert Altman.  As well as Wes Anderson and Paul Michael Whatsit, the Magnolia/Boogie Nights guy.  Wow! Wow!

IMDb's list of films Dylan Tichenor has worked on:

Editor:
Doubt (2008) (filming)
There Will Be Blood (2007)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
... aka The Assassination of Jesse James (USA: short title)
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Cold Creek Manor (2003)
... aka Maison au fond de la baie, La (Canada: French title)
The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
Unbreakable (2000)
Magnolia (1999)
... aka mag-no'li-a (USA: promotional title)
Hurlyburly (1998)
Boogie Nights (1997)
Jazz '34 (1996)

Editorial Department:
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) (additional editor)
... aka Lemony Snicket - Rätselhafte Ereignisse (Germany)
Sydney (1996) (post-production coordinator)
... aka Hard Eight (USA: new title)
Prêt-à-Porter (1994) (assistant editor)
... aka Prêt-à-Porter: Ready to Wear (Canada: English title)
... aka Ready to Wear
Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) (associate editor)
... aka Mrs. Parker and the Round Table
Short Cuts (1993) (assistant editor)
The Player (1992) (apprentice editor)

Miscellaneous Crew:
Kansas City (1996) (technical coordinator) (uncredited)
City of Hope (1991) (production assistant)
Sublet (1991) (production assistant)
... aka Realquiler

Producer:
Magnolia (1999) (associate producer)

Thanks ellemeno, thanks louise van hine!!

I am glad that I am now finding out that Geraldine Peroni, was a lesbian. Maybe the BM film she worked on as co-editor help her, hopefully!!

Passed away so young... no partner? She was sad about what, maybe?

What is meant that someone else took over for Peroni? Did she past away before finishing her job? Or she had finished, and another continued?

Anymore news about her, from all of you, and/or from others, in advance: thanks,

hugs!!
