It is from an interview with Devora Brown, the costume truck supervisor:

Merci Front-Ranger !

As you pointed out:

- Name: Devora Brown

- Job: Costume designer/costume truck supervisor/stylist

- What do you do? "As a costume designer, I meet with the director and production designer to help figure out the overall look of the show, then buy and build the clothing. As costume truck supervisor I dress the actors."

- Largest number of costumes on one set: "On Jesse James we had hundreds and hundreds of extras -- they were dressing 500 people."

- Favourite wardrobe creation? "My favourite costume from a show was from Brokeback Mountain. The scene where Heath (Ledger) and Michelle (Williams) get married. Heath is wearing blue jeans and a suit jacket, and his best man is wearing the matching trousers of the two-piece suit. It is such lovely attention to detail."
........

But who said this ? Not Devora Brown, right ?

It is indeed a lovely way of showing that Ennis and his brother were so poor that they could only afford to hire one wedding suit which they then divided between the two of them. However, before reading this interview, I'd never spotted this lovely detail of the divided suit.

..........

But I don't see this as fun ? Or should it have been fun somehow for  Ennis to borrow his brother's suit jacket ?  I presume that his brother had already a suite since he was married before Ennis was ?

Maybe the fun came when either Ennis as the actor decided that it would be more fun to have his brother's suit jacket, and his brother to wear the bottom pants of it ?? Or who had that idea ?

Awaiting your news,
au revoir,
hugs!   Does anyone know if that rented suite was in the  movie script or Annie's story ??

I thouhgt I'd post the image of Ennis and KE (apparently KE) sharing one suit at the wedding.

I think that Ennis's wedding scene is interesting enough to warrant it's own thread... so I think I'm going to start one here in Open Forum in a minute!

I always smile at Ennis's "If I got lucky..." comment about the harmonica. Also, even though it's a sad scene, their last night at the campsite where Ennis talks of "putting the block to a waitress.." he's holding a Long Necked (phallic) bottle of "Old Rose" whiskey. It always puts me in mind of Aguirre's comment about "Stemming the Rose". Especially when Ennis puts it to his lips. I've always though that was some sly humor from the filmmakers. I smile too at the "I'm tired of your dumb ass missing". scene. When Ennis playfully shoves Jack it demonstrates his growing physical comfort with him. Sweet.

I think it´s just me, but i always giggle at one precise moment in the movie. It´s not even supposed to be funny. Like i said, it´s probably just me.

It´s the scene in the middle of the movie when Ennis and Alma argue and Ennis follows Alma down the stairs of their Riverton apartment. Ennis turns back to the apartment, stops, and ask his girls if "need a push or something." Ennis looks pouty, the girls look like the twins from The Shining and in that moment the very epic theme music starts to play.
And I start to giggle. Everytime. It´s the only point in the movie where I think they chose the wrong time to add music (and THAT music in particular), and instead it becomes funny.
